supercharge OR turbo my commodore
hey guys, i was thinking what does it take to get more power from my car and still be able to drive it to work. first of all should i get a super charger or a turbo. both will get an intercooler cause of the weather. i am looking at 400HP on the wheels. most supercharger kits say that can be done with out working on the engine from the inside. to me it sounds like a great deal i also thought about getting an LS6 engine for my car but i think its not worth the trouble. so how much boost and HP can an ls1 take with out working on the internal parts of the engine any info would be helpfull thanks a lot guys

I wouldn't buy on enew, but it is cheaper than H/C and it is a true bolt on. It will never make the big numbers that a lot of people are laying down with ATI's and Vortechs, but if 400 is your goal it would get you there.

Intake is a must. U can look up HM(http://www.hmheaders.com.au/), Hot Jet, D&T or peacemaker headers(D&T is the best in HP gains). U will also need a good exhaust... D&T have one or u just can bolt a dynomax mufflers on it. I would do CAM/Heads if my goal is only 400rwhp. Get a LS1 Edit for tunning. By the way the LS1 Edit for the Commodore is different than the one used for the LS1 GM cars in the US. U will have to get it from http://www.carcoders.com. U will need it anyways later on when u get a SC.
If u do have an Auto u will need gears(3.42) and a 2500 stall. U can get the gears and TC from http://www.cmsracing.com/.
About the SC or turbo for a GEN III commodore. U dont have alot of choices. The only company that makes kit for the commodore is CAPA in AUS. They use vortech head units. Other than that i couldnt find anyone else.
I hope that helps.
EDIT: Opps i just remembered that the Magnacharger should fit the commodore since u have more space above the engine. I guess u will need to address the hood highet though. But it should be better than the CAPA SC if u can get it.
