Default Who holds the record for highest 6 speed FI on pump gas?

I just got off the phone with Allan and we were just talking about random stuff, and he brought a good question.

I know mighty mouse has dynoed 907 rwhp, but that was with meth from what I understand.

Im curious to see if there is anyone in an lsx based motor, including c5r i guess, that is currently making more then my 756 rwhp on strait 93 oct.?

I know bryan wilkonson made like 822 with his c5r 427 with F1R, but was that pump only or with meth? plus i m not sure if it was a 6 speed.

Anyone have any ideas?

my input is to use meth.. and lots of it! and when you go to the track to use race gas AND Meth.

We pushed 740rwhp on our 346 F1 car. Then changed the pulley from a 4.4 to a 4.0. The only problem is that we didn't dyno it and blew the rear apart.Should be on the dyno in 1-2 weeks again.Shooting for 800rwhp on pump gas-93.

I would never make passes with over 700rwhp without using race gas, who makes that kind of power and runs any good kind of mph? It's not safe.

Not safe for most folks to run over 140mph without race gas.

not knocking of flaming at all, but just out of curiosity, what is the difference if someone traps over 140 on pump gas or race gas? either way you still have the same risk dont you?

The question you have to ask yourself is...

With say a 3500 lb car/driver, can you go over 135 mph on pump gas? How about 140? 145? 150? 155?

Do some research.

This is a my readout on pump gas and I would run it at the track. Please tell me why this wouldnt trap 140 mph because its on pump gas.

Well, 134.22mph best so far, 3600lbs, M6

Pump gas in the UK is expensive enough never mind any type of race fuel.. The use of race gas isnt even an option for me, and I wouldnt even consider it due to costs.

Though I admit, I did use very small amounts of water/meth, 50/50 via the small aquamist system. More for a bit of safety than extra power.

I'd like 140+, and dont see why it isnt possible. If AFR's are safe/rich, then why cant it be done ?

I held my car flat out for 1.25 miles on a top speed run a couple of months back, AFR's around 11.7:1, and it was fine on pump fuel. Thats a lot harder than just a 1/4 pass.

The load of making a full pass, pushing a 3500 from a standing stop will generate more heat and load than a 2 second hit on the dyno.

Good comeback, but no prize a Dyno is a tuning tool they are used to set up the full range of load points not just WOT. If your tune is done correctly and your fuel can be delivered why cant you run a pass. We run many higher octanes and race fuel and tune the system to take advantage of the extra power this can deliver for a faster ET why should pump gas be any different.

When I ran 10s all motor car wieght was 3800 lb we ran both pump gas and 109, we found that on that particular setup we saw no real advantage in power gain between the two fuels. Our speculation was that we had run out off head as we could not get more than 28 deg timing into it.

I wont argue that we would run a race fuel for drags but only as a safe guard, I wouldnt have any quarms running pump gas at the track with my present setup.
