Default STS oil problem

So we have my system all done and we decided to put a new oil pump in it. so we put in the ls6 oil pump. now when I get on it I make crazy oil pressure! like I should be at 40 but it will increase all the way up to 60 70 PSI!!! and when we had her on the dyno the oil reture line started to over flow onto the engine! what do I need to do here?

It was to my understanding that you should be around 40psi oil pressure at idle?

figure out where its coming from; the cap where the hole is or the coupler.
If its the cap where the fitting is screwed in, you may try a little thread tape to seal it better. If its the coupler, you may need another one.
I really wouldnt think the engine oil pump would have anything to do with it. It supplies pressure to the turbo, but your scavenging pump supplies the return pressure.

60-70 is going to be normal at WOT in the higher RPMs. I think your oil leaking problem is totally unrelated to the pressure.

60-70 PSi at WOT is normal.

If you're leaking from the return line of the turbo, it has nothing to do with the LS6 oil pump. See where it's leaking from and tighten the fitting, use some teflon tape there, or replace the leaking component.

So is there a way to turn down the STS scavage pump? maybe so it does not pump so much?

Its a two speed pump, depending how its installed...vacuum referenced...or can be set to run high (or prob low) full time.

The STS return system into the valve cover is not a very good design, in my opinion. It is way too easy for it to leak oil onto the exhaust. We're having a problem with it, and I have read of others who are also experiencing problems. It is totally unrelated to your engines oil pump, as has already been mentioned. Bob

Just return it to the oil pan like most other turbo kits and stick a breather on the valve cover in place of the oil filler neck.

so does everyone just think that the oil reture line is bad? or that I need to tap my oil pan? or is there a way to turn the oil savage pump down?

I am removing the PCV system on mine, and I'm going to use one of the nipples off the valve cover to run my return line (one that is used by the PCV. And then I'll stick a breather on the oil fill hole, as noted above. I don't see any reason why that shouldn't work.

Any updates on how this worked?
