I still wouldn't bother with a mail order tune. If you keep your foot out of it on the way to the dyno you won't hurt it. Or put it on a trailer and tow it. Paying for a mail order tune, just to get it retuned is throwing money away.
TPIS blew up my dad's LS with a mail order tune years ago and it wasn't even forced induction.

i dont know about TPIS but i personally would do it if you tune the vehicle yourself and need a "start up" tune to get started.
I personally would and am gonna have Frost setup my tune again for me once i get to that point. Im also getting HP tuners so that I can build from there. I wouldnt consider it a waste if its getting me 75-80% of what i need and then i get the last bit of it on the street. If it keeps me from blowing my engine and costing me a replacement, then a little $200+ mail in tune is well worth the time and effort in my view.
Ive already had Frost tune my PCM before and the car runs great and I will be doing it again when i get my turbo put on.
