Post your Dyno Sheet. I'll point the lag out for you, clear as EFFING day.

I would like to see the exhaust pics myself. I have seen one or two nice STS exhaust pics in the past.

And was the plastic directly against the header? It's fairly difficult to melt anything. My drain line rests against the y pipe with just a small piece of tin foil in between and I have done many WOT blasts and it has yet to melt AT ALL.....

Thumbs up

I have no problem with my F1's "lag". Spinning the tires in 4th gear at 75 mph is way too easy. My car is a street car anyway... not a "race car" like most people's cars on this site. It makes enough of power for me. Once again... I never said that the STS kit didn't make power. My concern was the design and layout of the kit. That's all.

Cool! I guess you're one of the few who looked at the STS buildup pictures on the EPP link that I posted. They did give me a bunch of ideas!

Have a problem? I wouldn't either with your peak numbers, but surely you can undertstand that there would be more area under the curve from 76 or similar sized turbo, on an LS1 of course, just trickier to launch. Or else, why have only 400 rwhp when your engine's spinning at 4k rpm? Your car's fast, but you should know what you have. Most can agree about the layout of the STS system, of course... what can you do? Not everyone can a afford a front-mount... or an F1 for that matter.

Of course! Whoever said that originally is dead wrong about the frequency of this occurence. Anyone that visits these FI threads meets ALOT of front-mounted turbo guys that HAVE NEVER had this problem. As a matter of fact, not to knock the STS, the STS guys are the ones that have problems occasionally, and only one or two that I've read. It's not everyone's cup of tea, but it's proven and no one can take anything away from that

If you know what you're doing, you can have a front-mounted turbo or just headers, or whatever, without melting anything. If you don't know what you're doing, you can **** up your car installing a lid.

Default My STS Pics!!!

As I think I've mentioned in another thread, I've given some though to the ground clearance issues with the STS.

I realize many are having problems with the STS kits so I've redesigned the system to solve many of the factory flaws. The 1st picture below is the STS system with the turbo, exhaust, and cold air pipes sitting too low as STS designed them. The following 2nd picture shows my simple solution. While not ideal, the revision solves many of the clearance issues.

Notice the clearance under the car AND around the hatch with my revisions.

lol that is some quality art work!

and ground clearance isn't an issue with a little reworking of the pipes.

out of the box scrape a roo if your lowered. a little tweaky deaky and your fine.

getting back to sts exhaust pipe thing, before the sts I had a corsa quad tip package with the sts i used the tips on the actual exhaust pipe and just bolted up the other tips on the driver side so it looks exactly like it did prior to the turbo.
There is no clue that there is only one side that is working.
looks really great will try and download a pic.
02/ta ws6 sts 12 bolt fmic,etc...

That would be the only way I do it.

I'm sorry, people with STS's and TA rear bumpers with one exhaust pipe, that ****'s disgusting!

Longrange, I like your style. Billy's talked to me quite a few times about your car. I haven't found anything seriously wrong w/ these kits since I got it tuned right. Ground clearance? Whatever. My LT's are just as low.

You want a contribution? Relax Francis, I was just kidding around. That's a contribution.

If I brused your ego, please ignore me and get back to working on your 10 sec. timeslip. I'm sure at least one person here doesn't mind smiling every so often.
