Not only do you guys not know what you're talking about. I guess you can't read either.
I don't post much here simply because I don't have much to contribute. I don't own an LS1. I own other turbo cars and am generally a turbo freak.

Sorry bud. Check out a compresser map sometime and learn how to read it.

Have you ever heard that boost is simply a measure of your engine's intake restrictions? If you had great heads, a great intake, a good cam, and a larger displacement shortblock, you too would not be able to hold much boost. The turbo can only pump so much air, no matter how hard it tries. Conveniently, he has a setup that easily can take advantage of this amount of air and use it all. That's what maxing a turbo out is. Not the unusable and completley unreachable 50psi. I tried to make that really simple for you.

Great thread JZ. I'm glad to hear that you're doing testing on the non-mapped turbos. I'd love to see them. I'll never need anything that big since my current project is in the 300 rwhp range at 2200 pounds. It's enough for a handling car.

I understand how everything works. When i said 50 psi it was a figure of speach. Obviously 50psi won't be reached with these motors simply because of how much they can flow(depending on the turbo). What i'm saying is there is alot more power left in the GT80R and the 76GTS that was on mm's car. And that it was nothing but a loss to go from the GT80R to the 76GTS. My car has gone over 30psi accidently. 30psi is all my guage reads and it went well past and held. Someone in this thread said that a GT80R can only do 20 psi on one of these motors. Which is 100% wrong. All i'm trying to say is that the GT80R will make more power then the 76GTS hands down.

756 at the tire and 140 mph through the lights!! Sounds like it moves!!

Do you have a time slip???

How much does your car weigh???

So which is it? Could it be done? Sure, if you put a restrictor in your intake like a rally car.

A car that normally runs 20psi, and is tuned for 20psi, suddenly gets a sustained blast of 30psi ?.

Now Ive had this happen on a few non LS1 engines. Unless you have made provision for 30psi happening with regards to tuning, and of course your map sensor. I would expect a melted piston.

I'm sure this would require a 3 bar map sensor with appropriate tuning even on the stock ecu you are using, assuming your fuel system was able to cope with the extra demands that would place on it too for that time. At WOT it only takes a very brief instant to melt a piston through lean mixtures, or detonation.

From what you say about your traps, the car certainly sounds fast. At least back it up with some evidence. Is that hard to do ?
I know if my car was trapping 140's, Id be more than pleased to show of my slip.

I have the time slip but the ink on it is hard to read when i got it on the computer. Timeslip with 15psi. My guess would be the car weighs about 3500 with me in it considering what it weighed before and what i've taken out. Not 100% sure because i havn't scaled it.

60 ... 2.116
330 ... 5.254
1/8 ... 7.605
mph ... 108.73
1000 ... 9.586
1/4 ... 11.227
mph ... 139.96

Excuse the 60ft. The car spun like it was on water in first gear. And still kept spinning to about the 1/8 mile marker.

I haven't read the entire thread, but feel I should at least state that he's not BSing about his car.

While I've never seen the mythical 50 psi turbo, I can very much vouch for the numbers Alfred is giving. When my Z06 was tuned to around 630 rwhp, he pulled away from me like I was standing still dispite my car being way lighter. I suspect his car wasn't loading enough on the dyno to reach full boost. There's no doubt in my mind that car of his is making well over 800 rwhp. Now that I think about it, he's the only one to ever walk me at all... and he pulled me bad!
