Public and Devils Due - the manufacturer purposely does that to the wheel. They cut it in an odd fashion so any "joe home mechanic" can't take the turbo apart. A turbo can be rebuilt at home, with the proper parts and tools. However, if it is needing a rebuild and other parts are damaged the manufacturer can be liable as a "proper" rebuild will include balancing. See the point?

Balancing is the key to rebuilds.... The XS power units though mostly junk, most of them would have been fine if they were properly re-balanced. We have done a few and we don't warranty any of the parts that come from XS Power, but we balance them for customers that like to gamble with their engine and turbo...lol.

Well thats not entirely correct. My Garrett GT 70 is NOT a standard t4 turbo. I've rebuilt several standard t4's and the parts are not the same besides maybe 1 oring and 1 cut seal. Both wheels are obviously different with GT wheel for turbine and the shaft is larger with different thrust plate and compressor seal and spirolocs holding in the bushings.

Ok, now this opens up a few questions.

1. Would a real GT technology GT67 perform better in a rear mount setup than the GT67 that STS provides?

2. How much would a GT tech GT67 cost?

Quick Reply: sts gt 67
