I've run 16" ET streets with 13psi on my 3800# car. They hooked damn good but they did like to walk all over the place on the big end. Removed the belt and didnt bother me anymore.

and a WS6 vert with a 200# driver didn't have a problem up to 125...

Your point is valid though that the cars walk, I don't know about "death trap" though.

Then it looks like the guy should have put a 15x10" wheels on it and a good tire..for christ sake my stock suspension car with 600+hp went 1.45 leaving with a foot brake. But that is a 6speed car compared to my th350 car...damn! Put a damn auto in that thing and run a number already.

I have the same car as you and I ran 27x 12.50 qtp's and went 136mph with a 1.68 60ft with the stock 6speed on 14-15# after the burn out...guess some people dont want to drive the car.

definately a different point of view.

30#'s is still a LOT of air to run in those tires though, but I can definately see why he wouldn't want the chance of it walking at all (that's a LOT of power to be putting down the track)

135mph first time out is not bad at all. My car went 136mph first time out, has gone a best of 144mph this year. It takes some time. I think you should hit 145mph or better at some point, maybe 150mph?

Not bad for a shakedown run. Give it some time. I have no doubts it's got a ton more in it.

I think only folks who have gone 135mph and faster are allowed to be critical in this thread.

I don't think anyone is saying Allen is wrong. We are just stating our opinions from PERSONAL experience.

If it weren't my car, and I was driving, I would probably be more worried about the lack of traction than it walking a little on the top end.

Try M/T drag radials. They bite damn good + you'll have stability at speed.

Ummm, I do believe Allan has had many of his cars down the track to some kick *** times. I'm sure if this was his car, things would have been set up a little different. I can understand wanting it to be as safe as possible IE no walking and lifting the gas pedal when needed. I'm sure the car has a lot more in it.

i think it is a very good place to start. he only made 2 passes down the track, the first one he had to let out because it started getting squirly, and the second one was that pass that you saw in the video. They kicked him out after that run, so its not like he had 5-10 passes to make any adjustments or even get used to that car.

if his car ran a 9.95 at 135, im sure this car car run a 10.xx at 140+ no problem, possibly even on pump gas.

Im just trying to think what else besides maybe a set of Qa1's and some slicks and drag wheels I can add to help get some traction.
