STS with long tube headers?
I am considering an STS system but I already have long tube headers and an off road y-pipe on the car, would they cause a problem with the STS system? Didnt know if the kit was designed specifically for a stock exhaust.
Thanks

These STS systems are amazing. They said there is really no difference between stock manifolds and headers with the STS turbo systems. These turbo systems will work great on stock or aftermarket headers. I have a set of shortys on my car with the STS and the system is amazing. Feels stock untill you nail the pedal and then it really starts to pull. I was amazed with this product. But yeah it will work just fine. They said they did not get really no more horsepower gains using headers over the stock manifolds. It would seem like you would improve and flow more air with headers. I'm sure you would but not that much extra horsepower. The STS kit will get a little tricky if you have aftermarket suspension parts on like welded subframes, controll arms, etc, etc. I needed a custom pipe made to clear my aftermarket parts. Because I still wanted to use the aftermarket subframes and controll arms

And if you ever want to use a 2-Step you have to remove the Cats anyway.
The only catch to LT and ORY is that you have to have the exhaust pipe from the ORY to the turbo fabed... not impossible. Just not plug and play like the stock exhaust system to STS

i know old, but theres been some updates on this issue. get rid of the LT headers run stock maifolds and run 2.5" catless ypipe. then wrap everythine form the turbo back to at least the ypipe if not to where the cats were. im unfortunatly stuck with some OBX LT headers, but at least they are on the smaller side of LT headers. they arevery close, but a mm or so small then say the big boy name brands. like the collector is 3" outside diameter, so it makes the inner diameter slightly smaller. im gonna to wrap all the way up as far as i can with past the collector to keep as much heat in. i have some stock manifolds but they are back in wisconsin in my storage lol but im in el paso tx lol. i know im slightly hamstinging myself for now, but i also plan on a custom turbo cam but tick so i think i might just stick with this setup to help with flow since the cam is speced at 226/235 with some healthy lift. so i may get away with this setup on LT headers. he speced it out with this headers in mind so im gonna test this out first.
but as many have said, if you got your manifold still, keep em on and get a 2.5" catless ypipe to help velocity and heat moving.

i read about a guy that went from wrapped long tubes to stock manifolds or vise versa i dont remember but he said it spooled better with the manifolds but it performed better up top with the headers because of the better flow. so i guess its really just a matter of what you would prefer

Ok, here is a brain teaser for you... I currently have BBK Longtubes, and the BBK Y pipe going into the factory SLP catback and have the SLP CME exhaust...
Now, I just purchased a STS Rear Mount Turbo Kit.
Educate me on what I need to do to
1. Keep my long tubes
2. Keep my CME
