Default 363 versus 383 cid with a T-76GTS

I'm faced with the dilemma. I've broken several pistons with my 383/T-76 and screwed up the block. I have to bore it .060" and get a new set of pistons. Since my block and pistons are a PITA to clearance, I'm considering going with a 3.50" stroke steel crank that I already have.

363 pro's:
- Pistons are beefier.
- Requires little to no clearancing.

388 pro's:
- Better off-boost performance.
- Quicker spool.

The one question that I can't seem to resolve, though, is the most important aspect. Which one will ultimately make the most power? I've heard that the T-76 is best suited to <350 cid, but can't justify in my mind why this would be true.

Does anyone have any valid theories or test data indicating one to be better than the other?

Thanks,
Mike

Mike call me monday, we have test data from to almost exact engines down to the cams. Only difference is one is a 355 other is a 383....both used 76GTS and .96 A/R. I will tell you this....with a T4 and S-trim turbine, go smaller cubes.

Yup, even the GT47 has problems on 350-400CI engines running big boost. I have one car we are working with.... 19psi intake, 48psi in the exhaust
