Bored of the 408 F2r.. What next?
Ok, I have around $20,000 to spend on an other motor combo.. What should i do?
I already have that 1000hp 408 stroker with 22lbs of boost, But i want something more sneaky... Mine sounds like a stupid helicopter now, and it gets kinda annoying...
I think Im going to put it in a mustang shell, and then start with another combo..
I was thinking that 500ci block i saw at sema as the starting point.. Then, Go with turbos instead of that f2r procharger, and shoot for a little less hp so i can actually control the car,
Or, i was thinking about trying to make a 11,000 rpm small displacement small stroke engine. with a turbo.. Obviously im not wanting it to be a daily driver.. Just something to give people rides in up and down our streets.. like i do with the other car...
Im kinda at a loss of what direction, I almost just want to give the cash to a company and have them just set me up with something, But i guess a project is more appriciated when you do it yourself.... lol.
The Guy that picks the combo that i go with will get $100 bucks for christmas shopping....

id get the world products block and their heads with a lunati crank and rods, 427 cubic inches will be enough especially with how stong that engine is suppose to be.
that would account for $10k.
then either have stenod, w2w or PTK build you a turbo kit with the rest depending on how much power you want get T60-76 turbos (or some gt42's with the new wheels), unless you want to build it your self then you can get better parts and might meet your $20k budjet.

This prolly wouldn't be what you're into, but with 20k, I would put a forged 347 in a 3rd Gen RX-7 with nice clean turbo setup. Not ridiculous amounts of power like you're running now, but a good 500-600rwhp in such a light car would be a blast.

Go stealth, big inches and hidden turbo(s). If you have a couple months to wait, I'd suggest using the World Products block coming out. That will give you stock appearance, but with much greater strenth, as well as the potential to go BIG ci. As far as the turbos go, hide them. Maybe mount them inside the fenders like HP Performance did with their C5 TT kit.
With this package the sky is the limit, and it will sound and look stock!
PM me for my address... oh wait, you already have it from my EFILive purchase!

i say you switch to exotic cars.. you have too much money for camaro's and firebirds, so much that you are making bad/hasty decisions with your money without thinking through the investment fully. Throwing is amount around on a whim really irratates those of us that pinch pennies to scrape a combo together.
my 2 cents.. so i didn't win.. haha

I think you should try something more original that you dont see hardly ever...go with either a stock displacement 346 or Alum 402 LS2 and Turbocharge it AND supercharge it,low end and high end.Its been done with Volvo, Subaru, and others. And if you got the money to spend,do something that when you open the hood people dont say "Wow!" first, they say "What the F@ck!?" then "Wow".If your tired of a 408 making 1000hp try a route thats not done very often, and it could be rather streetable as well.Itd would be sneaky per say, but itd sure suprise the hell outta people.Itd be sick!Just my $.02 and i could use the $100 for a presant or 2 lol, good luck Jes, nick

If you have enough money, why not get a R34 or something of that nature and upgrade fuel/turbos?
Or, if you insist on going with f bodies and wanna do something unique, you can always try the combonation of supercharger and turbo setup.
It may not be very practical, but it will be unique.

If I had cash available there are two buildups I would die to do:
1. 87' Grand National back-halfed car. Something similar to Marino's MalaFe car. Motor of choice....see below.
2. The other option would be a ProMax Vennom 67' Nova back-halfed car. I love the look of this body style and have always wanted to build one. They utilize an in house tubular chassis. Pick your motor of choice. By the way, its all fiberglass!
ProMax Vennom's website
Both of these cars are badass. I would LOVE to have either one. The above recommendations are based on solid platforms for the motor combination of your choice. That is up to you for what you want.
Good luck

IMO it would be a great idea to try something on one of the new Solstice or Sky platforms. I know that they are planning on releasing a turbo version in the future, but waiting for them sucks. It it was me, i would stick with rwd (hence the solstice/sky, i actually think the sky looks better but it isnt out yet) I love the way both of them look!

Save up more of your ever- increasing amount of money and put it into a mkIV supra. build the bottom-end, swap to a huge single and so on. With the amount of money you prolly have it will be a sick setup. Plus its a good investment cuz their price is always going up.
