No need to start a fight Sean, or anyone else. As long as you go fast that's all most care about.

Not doubting your abilities at all, I just don't think that there are currently C5 parts made that can handle the power on a 6 speed to get into the 8's realiably and consistantly. The 427 LPE car that ran 8's was broke/rebuilt LOTS of parts before the finally got an auto that could hold up.

It is awesome that you do your own work. I wish I had the time/ability to pull off a project like that. If you can get a stock suspended 6 speed Vette into the 8's you will be the man. Good luck, look forward to your progress

I'm sure that Steve Dumler (sp?) with that LPE FRC that went 8's like four years ago had over $150,000 into the car.

Sure he has gone 1.5 seconds faster with a powerglide and a solid rear/4 link-non IRS setup. Bottom line, I would have lined up against him or Dave with a 6 speed in the car any day. But hey where not here to debate that. Back to the normal thread.

PSJ,
I have not made the final decision yet but I am leaning toward the twin 61 or 63mm turbos with .68/tang housings.

No one ever said going fast was easy but I prefer to keep my car streetable and have the ability to enjoy it on a daily basis. If I were going to build a semi max effort drag car it would not be the corvette, probably a 25.1c chassis mustang sporting a 360cid turbo motor. Enough about what anyone else is doing....

if I was doing my set-up over, I would go with on center housings. tangentials made it a real pain in the butt to get right.

I would consider twin scrolls if I were phill... With the bigger blend of streetability he is looking for...

He just would need a 4 into 2 header and turbo collector and to pair the cyls correctly... The spool point IS raised enough to make it worth the work...
