Default Can I run a supercharger on a h/c/e ls1?

In the next year, I plan on doing AFR205s, undecided cam, and true duels. I'm wondering if changing the heads and cam will still allow me to run boost, around 5-8.

Yes...If you're running it for the setup then it will help even more...You may want to go with 72cc heads to lower the compression a little...It may drop your horsepower vs a smaller cc head but it will allow you to run more boost when you go with the SC...My tips for the cam is I wouldn't run too much duration...Somewhere around a 220-228...You can run some higher lift but keep your lsa around a 114 or higher...Just to keep the boost in...If you will look your stock lsa is something like 119.5 I believe...

Even the LS2 engines with their 11.1/1 higher compression ratio can handle 6 to 7 lbs of boost with an ATI ProCharger, so if you don't have a choice, it can be done. I'd try to keep your compression ratio in the 9.5/1 area for the future use of forced induction, which will allow you to be able to run a little more timing, without having any spark knock problems. The Lingenfelter GT2-3 camshaft works very well for forced induction. Bob

My goal is to put down at least 500RWHP with this setup. The block and bottem end can handle this?

Yes it can, 500 rwhp is at the upper end of what is tolerable, but with a good tune it won't be a problem. Bob

So if I use the D1SC, should I even upgrade the heads? I heard with FI, aftermarket heads won't really matter.
With the h/c/e, I know I'll be putting 400rwhp. So if I put the D1SC on with about 9lbs of boost, shouldn't that put me up in the high 500s/ low 600rwhp?

Until you do a forged bottom end, you can't up the boost to realize the power potential of the AFR heads. An ATI ProCharger D-1SC at 8 pi of boost, along with a good blower camshaft, will get you 500 rwhp on a Mustang Chassis Dyno, 550 rwhp on an unloaded DynoJet chassis dyno. This is all the power you really want to throw at the stock rods and pistons, and you will have fun getting the chassis to handle it, as most people don't realize just how much power 500 rwhp really is!
