Default POR-15 the STS turbo housing???

I was wondering if you could por-15 the turbo housing on the sts kit. Basically after a while it turns a rusty brown color. Atleast on my car you can really really see the turbo. I was wondering could you use that por-15 on the sts turbo housing only. The have have temp paint which is good up to 1400. Has anyone did this yet?? Would that effect the performance or make the turbo housing even hotter since there's a coat of paint over it?? Also how hot does the turbo housing get on a sts turbo kit - Under 1400??

EGT's will run about 300 degrees F at idle to 1400+ degrees F under an extreme load (racing down the highway for a mile or two at moderate to high boost). Normal running temps will be between 500 to 900 degrees F.

The standard factory Garrett turbocharger will pull all day long at 1250 degrees, but at 1270 degrees F, the tips of the turbine blades begin to blow. I don't know anyone whom used the POR-15 to coat a turbine wheel housing...but you should be okay. I've seen a few ceramic coated and that is fine too.

Yeah, because everyone and I mean everyone can see my turbo out the rear. I think it's allot lower then most with this kit. I know once that turbine housing get's rusty. It's going to look horrible out the rear. So I was just going to brush some por15 paint over it - so it will look new. Besides with the sts kit the turbo runs allot cooler then the front mount correct?

go to www.hpcoatings.com and get the extreme coating. I had this done and I can actually touch the turbo housing after it was running. Not for long but I do not get burned.

The maximum powder coating temperature limit(s): 1000° for high temp powders - 300° for all other powders. You will need to specify, some places use ceramic coat or high temp powder, depending on application and customer needs. Always call and ask, I'm sure most places would help.
