Help with piping I'm going to be using a Gt42 turbo in my 80 Malibu. there are no kits for this (not that I would buy a kit) Is there any place that can give me some guidance as to the size of downpipe and exhaust to run with this setup? Will be using the 5.3 manifolds
what size turbine housing are you using?
the T6 flanged hot side is setup for a 5" DP
the T4 hot side and appropriate v-band flange can use a 4" or 3.5"
Honestly, run the largest that will fit. You'll make more power and it should spool easier

I have someone that I will be getting a set from. Just waiting on some pics right now. I just now got the motor out of the Z28. I want to swap out the cam, springs, intake and a few other things before I get it in the Malibu. Just trying to get the turbo stuff squared away
A set of 5.3 manifolds or custom headers? I have a 5.3 motor going in my bu, and the mani's are on it, just curious if they clear everything. Keep me posted on your progress. Did you decide what to do about wiring? What are you doing for an intake? I need a comlete intake....

I have a FAST intake and Nick Williams TB. I'm going to use the factory LS1 wiring harness and computer...that's my plan.
There should be tons of room in the BU for everything. Custom headers?? Not me, I can't afford that stuff. I'm doing the poor mans exhaust ....cause I spent my money on everything else
