Default Nitrous or Procharger??

Okay as the title says which one. With the setup that I have in my sig what do you guys or gals think I should go with? I know that nitrous is going to be cheaper, but I like the thought of the power always being there. My goal to be in the 10's with no serious weight reduction. Give me all your pro's and con's please. I have oh about 9 more months to think about it. I keep changing my mine on which way to go with this.

You are comparing apples to oranges.

Really... That's why I am asking what people think. I am having a hard time figureing out what I want to get and was looking for some insightful help on which one to go with. Not comparing apples to oranges.

I really think you'll be happy with either, but for me, I'll take nitrous.

On my next setup, I'm going with a dual stage wet setup, two 15 lb bottles mounted where the rear seats would go, dual stage timing retard, dual solenoids for safety reasons, pretty much the works, but no progressive controller or purge. This will be on top of a set of cheap ported heads and a custom mid size nitrous cam.

Theres just something about flipping that red switch that just makes the world seem like a better place.

Blowers are better for the more simple minded like myself. With nitrous you need to be concous of bottle pressure, you have to turn the bottle on, arm the system, ect...alot to remember when rolling up to light and a last minute race evolves. You also need to use an rpm window, juice it under 3000 rpm and boom. For me, its just to many variables.
Check out the latest issue of High Performance Pontiac, the shootout article. Two racers had nitrous backfires and caused major damage.
Thats enough to hear for me not to try NOS.

Good luck with what ever you choose.

8 rib D1SC on its way!

One thing to consider is the fact that a supercharger is giving you power ALL THE TIME!!! So you can have fun with it without worrying about using it all up. But, the supercharger will cause you to get worse gas mileage for daily driving, it will prob. weigh more, and it mounts in the front instead of the back, which messes with weight distribution (but not too much). Also I think nitrous gives more torque.

In my opinion, I think that a supercharger is better for a DD (Unless you are really concerned about gas mileage) and nitrous is better for the 1/4 mile track. .

Surprisingly, I haven't seen much of a drop in gas mileage in part throttle daily driving with the ATI ProChargers. Bob

I have to agree with Bob on the gas mileage. As long as you don't have your foot mashed down then your bypass is going to remain open and car will drive N/A and get the same gas mileage as before.... only problem is it's hard to keep your foot of the gas pedal

IMO, forced induction is the way to go. To me there is just something about the feel of a boosted car that I love. And there's nothing better than the sound of a boosted car or watching that beautiful boost gauge keep climbing!

With having 9 months to make this decision you have lots of time to change your mind. I took 3 years before I decided how to Mod my Vette and I went back and forth before deciding on the FI setup.

You have lots of choices on levels of power you want. I went to the extremes with my Vette here is what is needed to get 731 rwhp and 645 tq

DS1C A&A single intercooler
Forged 04 LS6 346 9.2 compression
cam 224 duration 581 Lift on 114 LSA
West Coast 72 CC Heads
LS6 Intake
ECS Alky Injection
TPIS Headers

Supporting Items to help with the Sick HP I put down. (You will need to upgrade lots of items to support these levels of fun)

RPS Clutch and Flywheel
Z06 Sway Bars and slammed
DTE Differential Hardened output shaft and brace
Thicker tunnel plate
Frame Savers
Oil Catch Can

Of course you need some bling when you want to show off the Blower

Slotted Rotors
Z07 Rims
Nitto NT-01 Drag Radials
Z06 Screens

These are the main Items to get to this HP level that I did and of course there were many other items that went into this. All it takes is lots of green and it will put a very big smile on your face everytime you drive you high HP car
