Valvetrain with boost???

Default Valvetrain with boost???

I just ordered the D1SC kit and want to swap out the factory cam while doing the blower install.
I think I am going to order the FM7 unless you guys have some better suggestions.
What type of springs should I go with? I have been searching all night and have not found anyone running the Manley duels in the Futral kit.
Does anyone have any input on these?
My goals are 550 rwhp.
How do aftermarket springs sound, loud?
Will the valvetrain be more audible?
I will get TI retainers, pushrods ect...I just want to do this only once.
How long do springs last, would it be safe to assume that if I go with a spring capable of more lift (.650) vs. a set of 918 at (.600) on the same cam that the .650 lift springs will last longer due to not being pushed as hard (to its limits)?

The car has 9,400 miles, I dont need a timing chain or anything else do I?

Ti retainers,hardened or chromoly pushrods, and a good set of double springs would do just fine and should last for awhile as well(id go with either comp,crane,or Patriot

I was going to put the FM7 cam in also but decided to go for a cam that could be tailored for my setup. I'd give CamMotion a call. They make all of Futral's cam anyways(or so i've been told) and I'm sure they could answer any questions you have and come up with a good cam for your car.

I ran a set of Crane 832's for a long time, and then swapped over to Comp 977's. My first cam was FMS 230/236 and the second is 236/246. I'm only running .630 lift on the exhaust I think.

I'm using Patriot Golds. IMO using better springs is a must for FI since valve closure becomes more critical. People argue this fact because you tend to not rev the motor as high. But I figure a stronger lighter valve train is ALWAYS a good thing to do....

Thanks guys,

Anyone running the manley's from the FM7 kit.

WAHUSKER - How do the patriot duels sound? Can you audibly hear the valve train inside the car?
What do you mean by you tend not to rev the motor as high? Do you mean on boost? If so, why?

Default clearance issues?

Are there any piston to valve clearance issues with the FM7? Alot of lift at .588/.595.
