There spec sheet says at one inch static i honestly couldnt get it at free air. They did out perform the regular high performance spal but the one i have here is about 3.75" deep also they pull alot of amps. They pegged my power source at 30 on start up.

Lets see static is a measurement used to calculate the amount of resistance in air flow. Usually measured in water gauge or mercury. Water gauge would be used on items like car fans or airconditioning. Mercury gauge would be used for like checking catalitic converters. Most new car radiators (OEM) dont even equate to 1". Most two row after market rads start off at close to that at 15fpi is the most common. If any one has a Flex-A-Lite (fal) catalog look on the bottom it states in fine print their electric fans should not be used on 4 core radiators which equal the newer aftermarket style 2 row aluminum units.

who makes a aftermarket 2 row radiator for our cars , that fits just like stock and that i would still be able to install the Procharger fan shroud and 16" spal fan
please let me know
the LS1 runs too hot , the stock radiator is too small and not good enough, its ok while driving but at a stop it gets the coolent to hot

You can also use the LT1 radiator.

I am not familiar with the ATI setup but, i do know PSJ is still useing the stock radiator with the YS-trim and never has an issue but, hes got one of our Air to Air, we have radiators that are 1-1/2" thick single row that have 2.25" thick tanks. We also have 2 row 1.00" radiator with a core depth of 2.215" and 3" deep tanks. We have universals or direct bolt ins that could use the original fans. Universals are of course cheaper. If you hit the griffin web sight check out what is on there that you might want to use and i could let you know if it is in stock. I would rather do it that way because we have sick lead times right now.

I'm using the stock radiator and fans right now but have a small custom size Griffin radiator that I will be using soon, and I will probably have to run a aftermarket fan setup. But I want to find something that is as good or stronger than stock.

John check your email i sent you a sketch of what can be placed on the cores. The spal 12" 225 watt fan shows 1360 each. The spal 13" 225 watt fan shows 1710 each. The maradyne 12" 225 watt fan shows 1565 each. Maradyne does not offer a 13" fan. All of these fans have a five inch diameter motor. It may be possible to stagger these and miss what you have in the vehicle.

Sounds good Jimmy. I have a Griffin radiator that I bought from a buddy, it was originally sold thru Speed Inc. I will have to take some measurements.

This is the fan setup I run... It is nothing short of badass... Its quite pricey and when you factor in that you need to upgrade your alternator to be able to handle this fans draw just tells you how nasty this puppy is. Been running for 2years in the worst heat and traffic situations.

Man it must be hot, check your head gaskets... any small amounts of hellish combustion chamber gas into your cooling system and is going to be quickly overwhelmed...

The fan I saw above is rather thick and we do sell them all the time and the later model cars can handle the 220watt motors they have. Just as a note the CFM loss at .5" h20 is a little over 400cfm. This is a good fan and is quieter then the others but for the money I would go with the VA18-AP13-59A and is almost an inch shallower and has the same motor. Did I mention we sell them for half the price of the one shown on the link above.

how much do you sell them for and is it a direct fit to the factory unit of a 2000 trans am and should i go with a new alternator and if so which one. i just dont wana have problems down the road so i would rather spend the money now and not have to worry about it
