Default Truck headers....

Well I know a few of you turbo guys run 5.3, 6.0 ect. truck headers that have beened turned backwards for your turbo manifolds. Well I was wondering if anyone had any pics of these hederes on a motor thats out of the car. The reason for my strange request is my ls1 isnt going in an f-body and I would like to see where they sit on the motor and how far they stick out to help me get a better idea of how to place the turbo.
thanks in advance

The bottom one is a T74 I believe from Frcefed98...He's trying to get that thing figured out but I think that he'll get everything done soon...He did an awesome job at it and I believe that he said that he might make some more but you would need to ask him...

Thanks Eric, I was about to post those same pics

Turbo is a Garrett GT42-74, its physically huge. The turbo on the first set up is also a GT42, but I think its a 76mm version.

What size exhaust outlet is that and how big of an exhaust do you run? T-74 or T-76 Thx.

fd3sr1 :
I've been told there is no difference in between engine sizes and I think you want '03 or newer, but I'm not sure.

Non-egr ones are aesthetically more pleasing than egr ones. Don't think there is any performance gains between the 4.8, 5.3, 6.0 mani's. I believe the above post is right with trying to find 03' and newer manifolds. I have a 5.3 set off a 03' avalanche. Got mine on performancetrucks.net which is ls1tech's sister site. They pop up all the time for sale.

Good luck on your buildup. Use the SEARCH function to your advantage when it is working. There is TONS of information out there on these manifolds.

Exhaust size outlet varies from turbo to turbo. I believe they are 3.5" or 4". s far as exhaust, most people run 3", 3.5", or 4" downpipe depending on the amount of room available. I know a few cars running 4" downpipes and they sound amazing!

Why do you have the exhaust side to the drivers side instead of the passenger? Is there any advantages to doing this? I would think it would be easier to have it the other way since the downpipe has to run under the passenger side of the car.

We built the kit that way so we could have more room for upgrading to a larger turbo. If you face it the other way then a bigger turbo would get into the waterpump pulley, so you would have to re-do it to fit bigger.(we are planning on a GT42-88 when the new motor gets here)

faced this direction the scroll will grow out and away from the motor.

here are some in car pics

this was before it was finished, so if anything dosnt look hooked up thats why
