I was referring to a turbo app. Yea mondo would be good for S/C. I thought you were saying get a mondo for a turbo car...which confused me since it was a bypass. But yea i gotcha. So for us turbo guys were lookin at $650+ for the FMIC setup

Are there any other options for by pass valves? I wished that the Vortech mondo valve came in different colors instead of just satin and highly polished. The ATI unit is just overkill and too pricey.

I agree with Kyle, do it yourself and have some fun learning new skills and saving cash at the same time.

I've done 2 FMIC kits and its easy to do the first time and cake to do the second time. I had a few write ups on em here on 'tech, but the pics should be long gone by now. Once you get the nose off the car it's easy to see how your routing will go.

4inch thick FMIC's can be found for under 300 bucks on ebay and yes they are the same ones that are sold by vendors on the boards. I got mine from XO XO racing(or something like that) for 265..

performance-curve.com is where you can find SS tubing for 39 bucks for the ones Kyle listed.
High temp silicone, should still give discounts on silicone for 'tech members
LS1TECHdisc is the code I use.

Also check www.turbohoses.com. They are good quality and much cheaper than Turbonetics.

The crossbar clamps (T-clamps) can be bought at any hydraulic supply house for under $3 each.

I have searched the site several times and have found no answers on this topic. So my questions are:

Will there be a pressure drop from switching to a FMIC(24x12x4) and ditching the ati twins on a low pressure system(5-7 psi)??

Will there be a performance increase(lower iat's and maybe gain a couple of pound of boost)??

You can indeed see a increase in boost, and the IAT's will amazingly be a lot lower. Bob

Bob, is that due mostly to better IC placement for airflow, or are there other problems with the twin IC setup?

Anyone know the core sizes on the twin ICs?

Ive been toying with the notion of doing a FMIC on my setup also. Mine has the twin 4 1/2 IC's. Has anyone done it? How did it turn out?

Well, I did a search and this thread is what came up. I realize many have done it, but is the effort worth the gains? Im kinda looking for some hard numbers.

Hard numbers? I ditched my twin 3.5" and went with a 3" FMIC. Traps increased from 127mph to 132mph on cold days, 124-125mph to 129-130mph on hot days. I also picked up a consistent 2/10ths in the quarter.

I'm running a P-1SC-1 @ 13psi. My boost didn't increase as the head unit is maxed.

The FMIC is one of the best ancillary mods I've ever done for my Procharger system.
