Default Stock bottom end D1SC numbers

Well here's why my stock bottom end, stock head LS1 made with a D1SC and a cam on 91 octane.

It stopped making power when we let off the throttle. With 101 we might go for 700. I still don't know if I have the ***** for that risk.

Any questions?

Nice numbers, how much boost? I hope you have the air/fuel at about 11.2/1 for that type of power on the stock bottom end. I forecast a new bottom end rotating assembly in your future! Bob

Out of respect to AZ Power and Sound, I shouldn't release the exact cam specs yet. My car is the first with this combo and has out dynoed every other blower car in AZ equipped with a stock bottom end. We're trying to find turbo cars here that put down more before we claim the highest hp for a boosted, stock bottom end, LS1. I don't want to spoil their fun yet. Mike is really cool and will release his specs to those who call with serious inquiries.

For those who like more info, here's the graph with A/F. Dyno/AF

That's the 8# pulley but it creeps to 9#s in the upper end. I think it's the cam that really lets the blower breathe. The tune on this thing is ridiculously safe as well. We pulled a bunch of timing and were trying to not make more in fear of it going pop from shear pressure.

Other mods include long tubes, LS6 intake manifold, 60# injectors, '97 fuel rail conversion, and a fuel pump.

Bro that looks like a very nice combo. The fuel looks very safe too. I'm very interested to see how long you can make it last. Detonation can be the only weekness for the stock pistons. I melted some on a 95 Mustang and they just crumbled-I have never seen pistons look like cookies before.

I learned how to build it from this forum pretty much, so I owe it to you guys. I'll run it at this level for as long as possible. I like it being my daily. If something breaks, I think I'll keep it streetable when we have to rebuild it.

I had it in 2nd at 35ish and leaned into the throttle. I had the traction control flashing at me in no time and I wasn't even WOT yet. Gonna buy 315 DRs and I'll tell ya how those help. The power comes on very steady as opposed to a roots blower that might "shock" the tires lose. I'll report on how serious my traction problem has become.

Driveability is perfect too. My only problem is getting used to the spec 3 plus. Starting looks like I learned to drive stick yesterday.

Yeah Mike at Az Power and Sound had turned a P1SC, cammed, vette that dynoed 480, into a 575rwhp monster with a little finess. The guy who tunes all the high hp LS1s in AZ is named Nick. He has a turbo LS1 F body that puts down 660rwhp ish on 10lbs. Once he gets fuel, he'll do 800+. So I gave him my intake/header car and he made the numbers you see here. Nick put down 621rwhp on my first pull, then he put down 641rwhp after changing a few things. It took 3 pulls total to dial in my ride to that power and A/F. If you want contact info, PM me. They just did such a good job on my ride, I can't thank them enough. Now only if they made it cheaper...

The clutch holds great! I had a spec 3 in my old 150 shot F-body, so I learned to trust them. We did a new slave of course, but other than that, it slipped right in. The spec 3 plus had no chatter from mile one.

Nice numbers. Save for that forged bottom end coming up.

I'm at less boost with a cooler running blower and more fuel than you. Have you popped your motor yet? I hope I found a good combo that others can use that'll make great power, yet last 20K miles minimum. It's a culmination of information I got from this forum.

No I have not. However I am sticking to Bob's (EPP) statement that 550 rwhp (dynojet) is the reliable limit. Next year I will forge it and upgrade to the D1 with 15 psi.

Without trying to screw Mike at the shop since it's his specs. It's called the AZPSCB2 I believe. Roughly it's 230/240 115lsa. The thing lopes pretty hard, but I love that sort of sound/feel.

Nic Desjardins does just about everybody's tuning in Arizona. You can find him on www.azfba.com as NicD.
