Mine slips over 20% at peak hp, while others with better converters can get just under 10%.

NICE! Tons of great info. I'll be shifting at 6300rpm but it might get higher or lower with a bit of experimenting on the first runs at the track to see where she is happiest with this turbo set up.

I'm leaning towards 3.23's at this point looks to be a good gear for both the 4l60 and a TH350-400. Spinning high RPMS on the highway is no problem as the car is quiet and I have no rear seats to haul people around with me.

Now what converter is a good one for a TH350?? Any sugg's on that?

Mine:

1.35
144mph
3.50's
shift at 7000
28x10.5W
Hit traps around 6800

If my new combo works the way I think it will, the 3.50's are staying.

Frank, the march to getting the car ready for the 5th of march is well under way. I just hate that the season is getting started later and later in the year....we are having some awesome weather right now. Jen is giving me the green light to do a tranny, but I know she wants me to spend it on other things

Kyle, I can probably find a sweet TH350 and converter built for heavy street duty for $2500. **** this ol 4L60E has lived a long life so I doubt i'll need anything too extreme.

PSJ, If it goes 10's on its first few outings, then i'll do the same as you and keep the combo the same. No need messing with it if it works.

Just for the durability that the TH350 will provide over time. My car when not under construction spends a lot of time at the track. The turbo is making a lot more TQ than the old Procharger and thats going to kill it. Its been fun, but eventually the car will have a TH350 and a 12 bolt rear....it'll be complete then.

Any vids of the car yet? When do you start building boost?
I'm thinking I'm liking the GT42-74/76 turbos

No vids yet, none of my friends want to come over and play sscam68's wife won't let him come over anymore because it leads to him spending $$$ on his TA J/King frank

moderate pedal pressure and 3000rpm and its building boost. Full boost is at 4K. I like this turbo but I just hate its size......and I hate that its not a 76 unit too

I did find a 4L60E with converter, cooler and shipped for $1845 built to handle 700hp...but no rating on the Tq...hmmm

Sounds good, but why are you wishing it was a 76? They are pretty close.....I'm leaning toward the hi-flo kit with a GT, so having a big *** turbo sitting right there when the hood opens is kinda cool

sscam I'll be out of work by 12-1 in the afternoon at the latest...unless something goes wrong at work.

Man you're have a tough time with those gears huh? I know the DA is climbing every day.

The skinnies are yours to borrow anytime you want....unless i'm running em

2002 T/A I'm wishing it was a T76GTS because its physically smaller and would be easier to relocate up top(which i'm going to do in the spring) and makes the same power.

I don't know if he's reputable, but he offers a good warranty and looks to be pretty cool. www.maddog-transmissions.com
Maybe a few Florida guys know of him?

Wow thats funny Jer... Your looking at smaller and im looking at bigger.....
If it doesnt do what i want it will come off with a few hundred miles on it and go for cheap........ Its awsome that the S88 will bolt right up and is the same size so i wont have to change my kit at all......

Now fi you have $2500 to play with Shoot Kp a PM like i stated above and ask him because he ordered his whole Trans, and converter and what not straight from TCI...

I say do what your saying 1st and see how it does at the track how it is and if its is fine.... dont change it......

I'd like to get a bigger turbo, but it'd lead to more modding and i'm about done with it. Lets just hope the GT42-74 puts me into the 10s because if not MORE MONEY WILL BE SPENT

I'll have a bit more than 2500 to play with this tax return

500rwhp should easily get a full weight car in the 10s, all you need is the 60 foot

OK stupid question, how are you guys adjusting boost levels.....I believe it involves a spring of some sort.....but is there a way to do it electronically, I've seen stuff like E-Boost, but never knew if thats what it does....

Thanks

PSJ, March 5th is the opening date for the track, if it were open now i'd be running the car already....why the track is opening this late...who knows.

Frank Cool, i'll be here.

2002 TA, I have a turbo smart dual stage boost controller, its has dual boost levels, just set em and forget em. I'm running 12psi for the first stage and 15 for the track stage, more boost at the flip of a switch
