Thumbs up Almost ready to go again

Long weekend, left at 5am saturday to head up to W2W (550 miles each way), ran into some of the worst weather I ever seen in Kentucky. Nothing like driving on black ice for 150 miles @ 30-35mph

Anyhow, finally got to Detroit at 3pm, loaded up the motor/heads BS'd with Kurt a while and headed home. Nice shop they have there and some pretty awesome projects going on. Really professional setup those guys have going, got to see roofer daves car in person and it really is a work of art.

Left there at 5pm amd got home around 1:30am. Woke up at 9am and figured I'd assemble it and at least get it in the car today. Missing a couple parts so I couldnt finish it. But I should be making some passes next week. Going to run as-cast Dart heads and se what happens. Only real goal is to get in the 5s in the 1/8 with the D1, we'll see how it goes soon enough. Curious to see how the as-cast Dart heads work compared to CNC'd stock heads.

Motor is a 347 with J&E pistons, 9.5:1 w/62cc chambers, horwards rods, stock crank and a shiny new block. Anyways, a few pics as it goes together. Kinda got stuck on head studs so it will be a few days before I get the new ones, this is a later model block so it needs the all short studs, kinda stuck w/o those lol. Just bored and have nothing else to post up

Sold the old short block, still running fine in a head/cam M6 car. Just wanted to go with something a little stronger..

I noticed BG changed their T&T to friday night, going to be rough for me to make it there this year

Going to up the boost a little after I run it a couple times, I ran on the 3.7 blower pulley last year, this year I'll run the 3.4. I was a little paranoid about the stock connecting rods letting go last year so I didnt really spin the blower high..

First I'll try it exactly how I ran it last year just to see if the heads did anything, heck it may even slow down a tenth ot two lol..

Looks like a nice setup KP! Are you going to have the combustion chambers smoothed?

The chambers look pretty good as-is, better then OE anyhow, there is no sharp edges or protrusions and they are smoother then it appears in the pics.

You should try and make the Ga f-body shootout on Mar 19. You can get plenty of TnT runs in without the usual big crowd.

I was at one a couple years ago with my old SS, had a decent time but I had to leave a little early after I won (or came in second, I forget) and they never sent my trophy lol. SDR is like 400 miles from me so its a haul..

I just picked up that issue, though it was funny they said the temp 'topped out' at 80 degrees at that event LOL. It was like 96 in the shade Tony (Nine Ball) took all those pics - did a great job.

Same cam still. I honestly am not looking to go any faster really, If the heads make a little more power then so be it. Main reason I did the heads is for the bigger valves and just being a new set of heads, my old heads had stock valves..

Besides I love the stock idle, it surprises a lot of people at the track when see what it runs..

Kinda reminds me of Magnus's car. Dead quiet at the line. Wouldn't even give it a second look then just yanks the wheels and runs a very high 10. Talk about sleeper.

Yep, doesnt annoy the neighbors even with an open exhaust, I can leave it idle for days and the kids dont run and hide lol. This has to be one of the most subdivision friendly nine second cars I ever had.

I'm sure it would pick up with more cam but its just a fun bracket racer/cruiser, not looking to be the fastest around or dont need a 230+ @.050 duration cam to pick up chicks anymore..
