remote turbo question

i was wondering what could be used to pump the oil from the turbo back to the motor, im thinkin g about fabbing up my own remote turbo. can the oiling system from sts be purchased separately? what could be used to get the turbo oiled back there. thanks

Although I'm a front-mount, I tried purchasing a scavenger pump from STS. They wouldn't sell it to me seperately. Then, my installer found one from a trucking company (?). The brand is High Flow (not related to the LS1tech sponsor). It's noisy as ****, but it does the job. Try calling STS and see what they tell you? You never know. I think all turbo set-ups should run a pump... Not a puff of smoke from my car, not even at WOT.

I know of 3 guys that have had the STS pumps go bad on them. All have been replaced with another brand, but i'm not sure what and have been good since.

Theres a 12v fluid circulation pump made for differential/rear end cooling and turbo oiling, Flow rate 1.0-2.0 GPM and up to 54 PSI. Lemme dig up the link.

its really loud and kind of costly ~$180

Mocal is the name of the pump. I am using it for my turbo.

This is what I plan to run on my big block truck. With a dry sump pump, you can control oil return rate with a pulley and/or restrictor change ... and you can also run a vacuum on the crankcase.

What would a setup like that cost? I've heard mostly good things about that mocal pump. Any opinions?

I got the mocal for my remote setup and yes... they're right, it's very loud, but seems to get the job done.

If the rubber grommets are used, it is fairly quiet...It is still a vane pump...Not really all that fond of them but for the short trips the pump has on it, it is still alive...

what other pumps are out there?
