I like them too. Here are some progress pics of the work I did today. Who ever said building your own truck manifold Turbo kit was easy lied. I have cut and re-welded the one side I have done 3 times already and am still not finished. I am halfway **** about this setup though. I have bigs Plans for it.

I also got my PT-88 today. Pics of it are below also.

Enjoy...

I dont know but I think I may have my T4 flange out to far which could cause some clearance issues with the radiator. Here is a pic with the turbo sitting in the general area it will live its life. What do you guys think?

IT is easy. I did mine working on it part time in 3 days....blindfolded

Looks good so far What helped me out a ton is a jig my dad came up with to mount the crossover to while we were mocking it up ON THE CAR. That jig gave us all the correct spacing for the radiator and the crank pulley and how high we wanted the turbo to sit. It was just a matter of cutting bends, marking em with a sharpie, taping em together and working from one side to the other. I then tack welded the assembly. Mounted it on my spare engine and finish welded the set up. Threw it back on the car and it fit like a champ....other than us placing the turbo a 1/2 inch to far over to the passenger side...small oversight...found a filter to fit tho

Looks great so far!!!! Keep up the great work and post more pics. Mucho respect for those who do these projects themselves

Do you still have the T70 turbo? Are you going to sell it...how much?

I have the T4 flange as close as i can get it and still run the turbo so i can route the down pipe over the passenger side k-member. I plan on making a jig based around this crossover pipe and them making a new one. I have the extra mild steel. I do have the PT-88 and the T70 hybrid 66mm turbos. I am planning on running the hybrid T70 on this car with forged stock motor, and then building a 6spd 99-up car with a bigger engine and the PT-88. I want a nice daily driver with 550rwhp and then a 6spd terror with 800 rwhp.

Here are some pics of the tweaks i made today. i have the turbo (T70) where it will reside. I gained more clearance front the crank pulley to the back of the turbo. There is an easy 1/2 to 1 inch of clearance.

Enjoy guys. I had to put the car back in the garage due to some bad weather. I hope it clears up so I can get some work done this weekend.

i know how that is, having to cut and reweld to get the pipes right, did mine three times too. for some reason it kept changing when i tightened the bolts up.

i prefer to fab everything up in the car that way there are no surprises. you might be able to swing the bottom of the radiator forward to clear the turbo, but you wont know till you get it in there. are you doing pusher or puller fans?

I havent decide on the type of fans yet. If I have to cut the cross member and stand the radiator up that is fine with me. I would prefer to not have too, but I will if need be. I have my crossover pipe pretty much complete. I will snap some pics and get them posted tonight.

Thanks guys. I am waiting on my 3.5 to 3 inch reducer now. Its all I lack to be able to start on my down pipe. I overlooked that when ordering all my steel tubing. The cross over pipe is going to be a tight fit on the passenger side. Wont know how tight until i get the motor back in the car, and get the cross over hung. I may have to make small adjustment as i go with the install.

I hope so to. My only concern is the passenger side pipe. I think it is going to be close, but i wanted to give myself room for the down pipe.

Well no new progress. The weather has kept the car in the garage, which leaves me with no room to work. I need a bigger garage. I am selling my Precision PT88 in the for sale forum. https://ls1tech.com/forums/lsx-parts-sale/468015-fs-precision-turbos-pt88mm-turbo.html

Well I am definatley going with a 346 stock cube combo. Gonna keep this car suitable to be my daily driver. I bought a set of Stock 6.0L heads, and am going to order a set of dished pistons to get the compression around 8.5:1. I am gonna use a LS6 cam for the setup also. My new goals are 550rwhp/550rwtq. I hope to have this project wrapped up in a month or so.

Well i had to go back to the drawing board today. I kicked the passenger side of the cross over pipe out to far and it would not clear the frame rail. So i am cutting and rewelding that side once again. I can see why it would be easier to build the setup while the motor is in the car for no suprises. To beat all my weler's tank ran out of gas today which stopped progress.

i was talking to some people and i was told for a lower boost setup like yours you would want a bigger wastegate like a 48 mm or will the 38mm be just fine with lower boost like that?

i am looking at running around 500 rwhp untill i can build my motor

Everything looks great so far man! Just curious, since you are going to be forging the motor, why not the rods as well? I know you are on a budget, but I would hate to put that all back together and have a rod issue once the boost hits. Or at least use some ARPs for the rods. Keep up the good work and keep the pics coming, glad to see the knowledge sharing!

More than likely i will run this setup on the completley stock motor first, just to see what it will do. I have plans for the setup if I can make good numbers on the stock motor. I have arrangments after that to do a forged shortblock. Will probably be a 370 cube motor. I plan to have the second short block built and on back up when the stock motor lets go. I am only looking to 5 to 6lbs of boost for the time being. Maybe go higher with Meth injection.

On the waste gate subject i think the Tial 38mm will be fine, I may step up to the Tial 48mm. I just dont see the need in the price jump to the Tial 48mm just yet.

Man I am getting frustarated... I had everything tacked in place, but my welders tank is outta gas. I figure what the hell. I will pull the crossover off and drive to work and weld the two joints I had left up. I weld them up, drive home and low and behold i am off by 1/4 inch or so . Once again I have cut the passenger side apart. My tank should be filled tomarrow so I am gonna wait to weld eveything while bolted up to the manifolds. I didnt want the crossover to look like such a hack job. I guess the header wrap will hide all that once I am done, but I still know its there. Sorry about the rant guys. I wish I had some dent progress to report but I had to blow off some steam.
