Default Solid-Tech LS1 turbo kit interest???

We have been working on a single turbo keep everything turbo kit for the ls1's for awhile now. We are not a sponsor for ls1 tech (hopefully soon). Just wanted to post some pics of the almost complete first kit. Would also like some feedback and gauge interest in the kit. The down pipe will go under the k member (booooo), battery relocate, and new overflow tank. 1 A/C line has to be bent, but keeps all ameneties. This is a diff version of the log header, a little better flowing than the conventional log header. IF it is ok ith the admis we will post pics once everything is coated and done (about 2 weeks).

Thanks

Sean, we do not mind you posting pics of your work. But, until you become a site sponsor we will ask that you do not post contact information or pricing, or try and sell any items on the site. That includes the signature you currently have.

Thanks,
Tony

There are no prices/pics for the ls1 kit on our site. If i need to change my sig I will be more than happy to. Just tyring to gauge interest in the kit. would like to get up some pics of it completed before we release it. Would like to get it tested also but seems my car will be down for a bit longer. ALso might be a little skewed because I am doing a BS3/408 etc...... I want to find out what is the biggest hp# the kit will support.

What size turbo are you using? I'm also going with a BS3/408 combo on my car.

just have the 76 on there for mockup/build. Waiting to hear what turbonetics can do in the t4 frame . My camaro will not have ac/or ps so I am planning on the biggest one i can fit in the car, midframe 88+, using our manifold design. Prob move radiator support and going with air to water/edlebrock im with elbow, powerglide, Nossle direct port (since i can seem to sell it lol). Eventually a heavy street style car. The motor/fuel/and bs3 should make it easy to test the limits of the t4 stuff and the manifold design. I am sure it will make more power than what 90% of people are looking to do. Thinking a t67 for base turbo sohuld be good for 600+, then amybe a t76/gts for the built motor guys to make 800+.
I am shooting for the 1k+ range

Looks great except I dont know about the dp under the k-member. I need a T88 to fit w/4" dp. That would be kinda rediculous going under the k-member, even with a tubular one wouldn't it??? Would be going on a 402...

Downpipe and dump tube are still yet to be made that will be this week. One could always split the 4" dp into two 2" or 2.5" or 3" downpipes under the k-member and run that wll the way back for true duals. Unfortunately the 4" will not fit the stock radiator fan on the passenger side, 3.5" would be a tight squeeze. This is not designed to be the solve all kit for everyone, just another option for people to consider. Our design is uniqe, placement is similar to hi-flo's. We could sac some of the higher dollar parts for some cheaper stuff to reduce retail cost but I don't know if that would be an interest for people. I really would like to include pt88 as the base turbo and all the bling stuff, The direction of the post, what would ls1-techers like to see on another kit?? Hi-Flo has answered all of the concerns in thier kit. Not trying to compete, bash, or otherwise outdo any other kit makers. Just offering another option.

The "race" (same basic kit as we are going to retail) kit will be on my car with a Innovtaive 105mm.

Thanks for the replies keep em comming.

I was thinking maybe different fans, lose the a/c and run a 4"dp over the frame on the pass side. I like my a/c but I like the idea of my pipes over the frame more. 2 pipes under the frame might not be too bad. Would kinda ahve to see pics to check out the ground clearance. I definitely like the turbo placement. I don't know why anyone would want it anywhere else actually. FMIC looks great too.

Looking Great Sean, lots of progress since I was in there last I'll stop by to check it out in person. Still using that thick tubing for the log on the passenger side? No worries of cracks with that stuff

THe kit will be coated to keep any heat out of the important stuff. There is about an inch+ clearance on the accumulator. With a tubular K member, and removal of ac/big fans, etc.... the downpipe possibilities are greatly improved. The kit will be diesigned to fit 3" downpipe flanges, so the T76 is the biggest with that flange. The GTS and pt 88 have bigger dp flanges. We will probably make the bigger DP for the pt 88 for the people that are willing to lose stock fans and maybe make a downpipe that is routed different for people that want k memebers. Problem doing this with the "base" kit is increased cost. Hey Jeremy!!!! You run at the track yet?? Thought I saw you there on opening day.
Yeah the manifold is still the thick stuff. The next one is going to be a tad thinner but still thick compared to conventional v8 header pipe. Import techniques + RWD FTW. Stop by and check it out in the next week if you get a chance. It will be going to the coaters in a week or so, then up for sale. Wait till you see the pics/turbo that is going on my car. Its rediculous. lol

Thanks for the replies/suggestions, constantly trying to improve/change.

You shold see the messages on the rest of the car. My poor camaro has been sitting for two years. Was playing with my 683 wheel HP 94 integra for the last two years. Stolen and stripped 12/05. R.I.P. I miss her lots when I have to drive my truck around all the time

Very bright thinks on the horizon though with the camaro.

Yep I was at the track on opening day, I couldn't get the car to shift to save its life, gave up and went home because it was just too damn busy to be making "tuning" passes every 2hrs I have a new tranny being built, should be here by next month or next year....tranny shop is not responding to my PM's after I paid em full up front

How bout I drop the car off at your shop and you teach it how to make power with this damn turbo contraption on it. I'm seriously thinking about selling it all.
