Default Turbo Paint?
Hi,

I have an STS kit ready to install, and I was wondering if I can apply some kind of high temperature paint to the tubo exhaust housings to keep them from surface rusting. Maybe some kind of exhaust manifold paint that you would find in an Eastwood catalog. I don't want to go through the trouble of Jet-Hot coating, as all I'm looking for is something to keep the surface rust away.

Has anyone doen anything like this?

find a local coater and get it ceramic coated

I painted my stuff w/ POR20, it smoked real bad the first hr I had it own there. If you can afford better I'd recommend a professional coating.

Do you think it really needs ceramic coating with the turbo in the back, and it seeing much less heat than a front mount?

Chris send your housing out to have it coated.I had mine done by forcedinductions.com and so far it has been holding up great.

Its still on there, been about 200miles. I havent gone over 3k rpms yet though.

i dont think he meant the coating for the heat, the coating helps alot with how it will look over time...wont get as much surface rust as it would with no coating..and about the heat i dont think it will affect it much at all back there
