So then you are doing a MAF-less, SD tune with a 2-3 bar map sensor?

Air/Fuel Computer mode: This mode works extremely well for tuning all types of vehicles and is used to modify the airflow signal to tune the vehicle. The airflow sensor signal from the MAF or MAP sensor are tuned via the Translator Pro's sophisticated 3D mapping algorithm allowing full tunability using the front panel keypad or Windows(TM) PC using the provided software. There are 12 rpm points and 3 different load tables, all adjustable in 1/2% increments. This means more precise tuning than competitive products!

MAF Translator Mode: Llets you replace a restrictive or failing MAF system with another style or size of sensor. We have built in calibrations for popular and highly accurate GM MAF sensors up to 85mm that will now work on any car originally equipped with a MAF sensor. Reducing MAF sensor restriction by upgrading the MAF dramatically improves turbo spool time and horsepower and sensor range.

Speed Density Mode: Is the ultimate in bolt-on tuning mods! The Translator Pro performs a true speed density calculation to determine engine airflow, allowing the user to remove the MAF sensor and use a GM 3 or our 5 bar MAP sensor. Allowing tuning by RPM and boost, the Translator Pro is pre-configured with base maps for most popular applications to get the user up and running quickly, just select the base map, injector size, and go!

Talked to Matt for almost a 1/2 hr yesterday......
He's been driving it to work from home to work then back to the shop for the last 3-4 days. about 100 miles a day.
Says its idles awsome, is cool in traffic and is a BEAST
15 psi on pump gas. Says if it had OD i could drive it everyday...... can still if i dont mind 3400 rpm's @70 mph.
Car still has stock size tires out back.. 25.7"s 28's will be on there now.... so 3100 rpm's @ 70 mph.
Says everything is working just like he wants it to........he can even hold phone conversations with no problem........
Now the only problem is the tires and boost dont get along
Now for some race gas...... C16 and MORE boost for this weekend.....
Looks like were heading to the track this weekend.
Feel free to chime in if ya want to Harlan.

Thanks for all the hard work.

Good deal. I am really leaning toward the MAFT Pro for my 98 Z28. It sounds like the way to go for the 98 model guys with boosted combo's.

So whats the difference between running a SD mode in HPT or EFI than running SD in MAF T Pro? It makes sense to get the MAF T Pro if you want to keep the MAF right? Or does the 98 model have problems with HPT and EFI SD?

98's don't get 2-3bar SD from HPT or EFIlive We are the bastard children
I'm running a custom 2 bar SD set up right now, but I think the MAFT PRO will have so much more to offer us once its released.

Oh yeah...HARLAN MORE INFO PLEASE

It would be nice if there is a MAF that can read higher than than the stock one. How higher can the MAF T Pro read in MAF mode? The stock one usually max out around 3800-4200RPM in a boosted application.

Don't think the MAFT pro uses the MAF anymore since it is speed density based, but I could be wrong..isn't the first time

Harlan is going to do a write up on the MAFT PRO once he gets kyles car all sorted out...so it should be soon.

The more I read about this maf pro the more I like it. But my question is where can I get one? Also I read you can speed density tune your car using just the maf pro how is this? Last thing In conjuction with my non tuning know how Is this easy and more accurate then HPT using a wide band AFR for your SD tune

I think what he means is, there is no official hacked OS to support a multi-bar SD setup.

The Pro is it's own SD box, that in the simplest terms, looks like the MAF to the PCM.

The Pro has it's own calibrations for the VE table (400 to 7600 RPM by 0 to 320 kPa MAP) along with adjustments for transient fueling, closed loop WOT fuel based on a wideband input, etc.

You can make quick global changes on the fly with the key pad on the front of the Pro, as well as data log and cal on the fly from your laptop. There are some quirks with the laptop side, as the program was not originally written for the Pro but it does the job.

The Pro has it's own MAP sensor, intercepts the IAT and feeds it to the PCM, takes the RPM signal from the PCM via the Tach line, and feeds the "MAF" signal back to the PCM.

As far as the PCM knows, nothing funky is going on
