Default Quick intake question.....

Hey. im getting stuff painted under the hood here soon and currently have the ls1 intake. I am planning on going with a turbo kit this winter and i dont want to paint my ls1 intake and need to swap later and lose the money i put into the paint so i mise well get the different intake now. With FI turbo set up for about 450 hp on stock block for now. what intake should i go with or will none really make enough of a difference for the money? Is the intake a huge key i nFI or will the ls1 survive? If its only going to be small gains, ill stick with ls1. Thanks!

Stick with LS1...if you're going to switch, just go to the carb style intake setups. Your LS1 intake will not hold you back with forced induction.

ok great! Thats kind of what i was hoping for so i didnt need to throw more money away, lol. I figured either the intake is a key factor as the air flows threw there and is a much for FI or it doesnt matter much as it is "Forced" induction so the air gunna get there no matter what, lol. Thanks for the help! What is a carb style you are talking about however? just curious?

Carb intake is the single-plane intakes...either the edelbrock victor on the GMPP one...I run the GMPP one with a precision elbow and a 90mm tb...you will be fine with your ls1 intake no worries.

Yea Mightymouse is pretty much the man and he does run LS6/ported TB i believe. I am also curious about Matts question.... how much more can you see with the carb style intake?

I dont know the exact flow rates of an ls6 versus a carb style intake but the carb intake is supposed to evenly distribute air to each cylinder to alleviate the problem of #7 going lean that some people encounter. I run an ls6 intake, so do a lot of others. My car never plans to be an all out race car, so personally I will never put the car intake on. You need to cut the cowl, buy the elbow, etc etc.

I wouldn't waste your money for what you plan on doing.
