Congrats Kevin!!!! That is rolling out big time!!! Steele would be ok if they'd fix the shutdown area. I have learned to negotiate it Looks like it was hooking pretty good to be so cold....I am surprised. Are you going to up the boost? That is just some awesome times!!!! i imagine you gotta be making 750+

Thanks guys, it was 55 degrees so it wasnt that cold, was a nice day really, Steele is 500 feet where most tracks I run at are 1200-1500 feet, thats a free LB of boost.

I've done what I wanted to do really, car isnt legal right now (6pt, battery in front, no batt switch etc) and I wont put a 10pt in it while I am still street driving it a lot. I really have no plans of upping the boost right now, going to run the car in a few 6.50 heads up races and a couple other bigger events so I dont want to hurt anything this early in the year. In the summer I most likely do the 10pt/chute and switch to a single T-88 with truck manifolds/aftermarket ECU etc and not street drive it anymore. I'm still on a random tech torque arm with a poly mount lol.

About steele, that kinda makes me sad that they dont fix that track, its a great facility but right now its really an 1/8 mile track. Problem is with that huge dip at the end you cant get on the brakes right away or it will really bottom out, then whe you can get on the brakes there are potholes, and torn up patches you have to try to steer around while trying to brake at 100mph+ lol. Last pass I found myself in the 'wrong' spot

57lb seimens or however you spell it. They work better at high duty cycle then most. I still have control at 90-100% which is where they are at right now

Congrats! Its awesome to see the father/son relationship. My stepdad has been there for me and got me into cars. I hope if/when I have kids they will love cars too...we'll have a bunch of project cars in the driveway. Congrats again!

I understand, I was seriously going to keep a whole M6 setup and swap between the two a couple times a year (keep the auto for the 'good' weather/track days and the M6 for most of the summer cruising/dyno numbers) but its too much of a pain to swap a couple times a year, easier just to buy another car and keep it an M6 - slightly more expensive though

Kevin, steele bottoms out for me as well. LOL...i had it down for a bit....brake and then right at the dip hit the gas and brake again after the dip. Sounds like conditions were ideal then...not as cold as i thought. 55 is a good temp with the sun on the track. Its surprising steele hooks as good as it does and other tracks dont hook half as well with 3 times the prep. Glad to see you run such awesome times...too bad most of the nutswingers on SCF wont acknowledge what you have done. Have you considered a 4l80e? You seem to want to keep it pretty streetable and that would let you do it

Thats what I had to do, hit the brakes, get on the gas right before the dip, get back on the brakes and steer around the potholes and ruts. There was a softball sized chunk of something there and I was going too fast to steer around so I tried to put in betwen the header and oil pan, I almost made it lol (see pic).

As far as I go the TH400 is plenty, I can still cruise at 60mph no problem and thats god enough for me.. Dont want the added weight or complexity of an OD trans to be honest. My car will hook in the rain on ET drags off the line, its 100' or so out on the 1-2 shift I usually have problems on a badly prepped track.. Weather was good yesterday but it wasnt one of those famous 35 degree steele days, good enough though

I dont care what the SCF guys think, like any other little group they have their heros and thats fine with me. I didnt build the car to impress anyone. Matter of fact I built the car mostly to show people that you dont need the latest and the greatest anything to run fairly quick, just good common sense weight reduction, decent horsepower and well chosen suspension parts..
