As far as Forced Induction goes I've made up my mind and I want to go with a Turbo setup. My intentions are to build a nice cruiser with more than a little go yet at the same time being able to pass Emissions in Arizona. Which kit would you suggest?

None of them.... I would go with TTi Turbo Race kit. Thats the only Turbo kit i would go with. If u can live without A/C then thats the best kit out there. Good luck.

If he is debating between STS and GMR, and he wants a nice cruiser, TTi race is probably not for you. Far to radical of a set up for your wants id assume. Id take GMR over sts all day. The GMR will give you enough power for your cruising needs, will be reliable, and as you know, is a great price! Im sure GMR will step in here and give you some more info on there kit! Im not too sure about emissions so they can probably clear that up. Go with an inline fuel pump, 42lb injectors, a few guages to monitor stuff and your good to go. Keep boost low, > 8 psi or so. Good luck!

however, TTi race kit is probably one of the best kits out there as he stated, just probably is way to big and too much for your needs! Hope this helps!

I know for a fact that an STS F body "PROPERLY" set up is without a doubt bad ***.

LMAO Didnt know he was in AZ.

You guys who voted GMR... Did you ever see a dyno or ET run from one of their kits? I would prefer a traditional mounted turbo over the STS, but I never saw any results from GMR kit.

I will say that most of the ppl just got their gmr kits, they are FLYING out of the shop. Im seriously amazed how well they are keeping up with the demand. Id also like to know why ppl think that certain turbo kits wont perform and always wants to see dyno numbers, any kit can make x amount of power. There a few things that makes a kit better than the other Quality, Price, Wait time, and Customer service. Granted the quality is pretty equal between the kits 1 point STS, 1 point GMR, Price for what your getting 1 point GMR, Wait time pretty equal here as well although but GMR has alot more on their plate then STS and still the quality is the one of the best ive ever seen 1 point GMR, and customer service HA im alil biased but there are no words to express how far the GMR guys will go to help you out even if that mean answering te dumbest questions ever 1000 points to GMR. This is no way a STS bash its a very nice kit but I think youd be happier with the GMR for the reasons above. I will also add to supermans post that the car hes refering to was the first kit made and was blowing through the converter

My opinions

FWIW, I got an easy 425 RWHP out of my STS at 5psi when I had a stock block.

Honestly, it's 6 of one, half dozen of another. Either kit will impress the heck out of ya, simply from a forced induction standpoint. Personally, I enjoy my "different" setup of having the turbo in the rear. People are always intrigued by the thing because it's "not supposed to work" blah blah blah. It's a great conversation starter and it's not run of the mill. At the time, there were no other bargain kits out there besides STS so that's the reason I initially went with it. Plus, you get to keep AC and keep the engine bay from becoming more cluttered than it already is. Even today, I have absolutely no regrets about it. From what I read, GMR sounds like they make a good bargain kit too. Either way, once you get a turbo, you'll hate every other non-FI car. Good luck!

What kind of Torque did you have? Any other mods besides the STS? Where the raedouts in SAE or STD??The mentioned kit [of ours] saw over 430 RWHP and 500 RWTQ but the stock trans would not have lived very long with that tune in it, so the numbers we posted were the numbers he drove home on.
**Not at all a STS bash, just compairing the numbers, a little curious***

Yeah, I have the white car in the vid on their site with the twin turbos.
TAmanjd has the blue car in the vid on their site with the single turbo.
Both of us are members on the site. Keep in mind that 400hp on the single was with stock injectors and valvesprings. It's not a fair representation of the potential of their kit. If it was mine, I wouldn't have even put that vid up cause it misleads guys of the potential of the single kit. JMO

500 RWTQ is pretty impressive. You've got me beat there. I believe my base rear-wheel torque came in at around 440ish and that was on a completely stock block (2000) with no mods whatsoever, other than the necessary 42# injectors - 5psi SAE on a dynojet. This was the first upgrade that I had done, actually. As far as the STS numbers go, I've seen slightly better numbers and slightly worse numbers on this board with other members but I think I was around average overall for the base kit. Oh, and that was also with the cheapie 60-1 turbo. Is that the same one that you use with your base kit or do you also offer upgraded sizes? I'm with you on the curiousity. I wouldnt mind a ride to compare...
