does anyone have an idea the most u can get out of a stock cubic inch ls1 with a front mount turbo kit before u get detonation? because ive seen people with sts turbo kits who cant pass 550 at the wheels because of knock, can front mounts pass this since they have big intercoolers?

yes. im sure well over 600whp with a good fmic. alot of it depends on the tune.
with meth inject, im sure you could see much more than that. MM was pushing over 900 with meth and pump.

What's the point of going for the most anything on pump gas? Race on race gas and cruise on pump gas...turn the boost down and still spank most anything on the street. Not worth the risk to try to put it on kill on pump gas unless you're rich...

Currently I'm running 725rwhp on pump alone...even stock heads/cam/intake/TB etc. No meth...yet. I'm thinking some ETP heads, bigger cam, and meth will allow ~900rwhp on pump. Stock 6.0L block here 364ci. GMR twin turbo kit.

I just put down 675 on 93 octain. Could have probly turned the boost up a little more but i was happy and decidedc to just leave it at the time.
i've since added 3psi with no problems in the FL heat... it's all in the tune...

A lot of it depends on the size of turbos and intercooler efficiency. If you're pushing some small turbos to hit that number you're gonna superheat the charge and it's gonna detonate. Larger turbos will aid higher pump gas numbers.....to a point.
A nice big, well vented, FMIC will work wonders too. I guess if you really want good numbers then use an A2W intercooler with some ice in it....but then again, you don't normally carry an ice chest in the back of your car.

Big HP Nubers on Pump gas is a waste of time... the bragging rights dont really mean alot...... alot have done it and paid the price....... a new motor later they are firm believers of higher octane fuel with big Boost.
Its not worth it..... to me at least.....
Thats my .02

yep, nowadays i just leave my junk at 13# on the street and let it ride
And yep... lucky for me (not so lucky or cheap for him), I've had someone in the same zip code to break stuff by doing it the hard way...so I've learned from that. From now on, it's race gas in tank any time i go to the track...I am too poor to risk it.
If you could always guarantee you actually got 93 octane, not 89.35468, then that would be one thing, but you can't.
I am waiting for this E85 to show up here...then i am going to ditch the meth all together.
