D-1 8-rib blower rattle questions????
I'd like to get some info on people who have a d-1 procharger 8-rib set-up with approximatley 8 pounds of boost.. Have any of you encountered any significate noise such as a rattling belt. The reason I ask is because I really have'nt heard any problems with the new 8 rib set-up as I used to with the 6 rib. The delima is: should I get a SDCE tensioner to eliminate any type of noise which was common with the the 6 rib. I spoke to Bob, from EPP who will be installing my d-1 and he advised me that the noise is minimal if any, but I'd like to get some other opinions from people who have the 8 rib set-up.. Any replys greatly appreciated...

the 6 rib and 8 rib regular tensioner rattle the same, had them both.. SDCE rattles less but its only at idle, the rattle never really bothered me though and some head units are noisier then others..
I have a 04 corvette convertible, that Bob just put a D-1 on and I can't even hear it unless I'm getting on it or just just let off then I hear the waste gate. It looks great and works even better. I have Kook's long tube headers and hi flow cat's and a corsa catback pace car exhaust. Sound's sweet.
Well, I guess I'll have to cross my fingers and hope my head unit isn't one that rattles to much...frceded98, advised me that he had some luck w/his tensioner, which eliminated all of his noise. He also said the only thing you could hear was a sweet whistle, which is what I want...

I had a 6 rib setup before and i was told by procharger that the rattling noise was just the oil slinger inside the head unit. It only did it at idle also. They told me it was nothing to worry about.
