6.0L boost

my cars almost finished and ready for boost..what are u guys running for boost on stock motors with 6.0L heads. im prob going to be running around 10 so whos getting more boost and how long are ur motors lasting..i have all the softwear and able to get a tune

Didn't last long

I had a customer with a STS 04' silverado SS who turned his boost up to 12 psi. It lasted about a week and then it broke #7 and #8 pistons and rods. It also took out the block, cam and other misc. parts when the broken rod was swinging around. A costly mistake! I am in the process of putting together a new motor for him which should be very sturdy. He doesn't want that to happen again. Stay below 8 and last forever.

The stock bottom end will not handle more than 5-6 lbs of boost. Usually #7 goes and when it does, it often takes #8 with it. Many thought it was a lean condition but even those running rich have had it happen. The lower the boost the longer they last.

Forged bottom end is good insurance.
