It took me about 8 months to go through 10 gallons and that was with letting friends have some as well. I ran 50/50 water meth on my first 5 gallons and then pure meth on the last 5 gallons. I now run a mix. I'm just using -30 degree windshield washer fluid from walmart for $2/gallon.

I've tuned my car without the meth at 10 psi for 11.0:1 a/f. I have the meth turning on around 4psi and it hits full spray by 15 psi. After tuning it this way I consume way less meth and the car runs better. I also make sure to prime the pump before going WOT. My tank is 1/2 gallon I believe and it will usually last me 2 tanks of gas if i'm beating on it pretty hard.

So now you're running a 50/50 mix of the WW fluid and meth? Just trying to clarify.

I'm confused (big surprise...). Are you saying that you don't use meth at all when you're running 10 psi of boost, but when you turn the boost up to 15 psi you do?

I'm currently out of pure meth, have to go to the race track to get more if I want the pure stuff. I'm currently running pure windishield washer fluid that is rated to -30 degrees. It has enough methanol in it that it's flammable so I'm guessing it around a 50/50 mix. Methanol is used in de-icing (not that we really ever get ice in vegas, but walmart has the stuff).

I first tuned the car on 10psi with no meth to 11.0 a/f. I then turned the meth on for extra safety against detonation. I don't really use the meth to run more boost on 91 octane as much as I use it as a safety net. I have not exceeded 10 psi yet but hope to be to 15psi once I install my fuel system. I haven't put the wideband on since turning the meth on but i'm not too concerned. The car actually felt like it picked up power with the meth on, probably due to the fact that I see the IATs drop below ambient

My current fuel system is just 60lb/hr mototrons and a single in tank walbro. My injector duty cycle is around 70% at 10psi @ 6500 rpms.

I top off my meth tank every other gas fill up and it usually doesn't take much. I've never been accused of being a conservative driver.

I run a progressive controller on mine to come on at 2 lbs. and full on at 9 lbs. and after about half a tank of hard street driving and about 15-20 full boost dyno pulls my washer bottle (meth resevoir) was still way over half full.

ThaLS1Kid, I'd like to know more about your setup. Could you post up with the details and the dyno data? I'm thinking about where in my boost I want to start applying the methanol... but also considering the "safe" route of tuning the car without methanol and spraying only at the highest boost levels.

I'd sure appreciate any info you can provide.

Ah, ok, I guess I was under the (mistaken?) impression that spraying meth w/out tuning for it would lower power the same way adding more fuel would.

A/F ratio has very little effect on power. At the 500 rwhp level I only gained around 12 hp going from 10.5 to 11.2. While spraying meth will show a richer mixture on a wideband it actually leans out the miture slightly due to meth having a stochiometric ratio of 5:1. I doubt the amount thats sprayed though makes much of a difference in that respect. It sure does work wonders on quenching knock and dropping the intake temps though. A little bit goes a long way.
