Default TTi uses V band for the downpipe?

Does anyone know if the TTi kit uses a a V band? My downpipe has four bolt holes in it and the exhaust turbine that was included in the kit (doesn't fit the new turbo) also has 4 bolt holes. I'm kinda confused....

The TTI race kit uses a tangential ex housing with a V band downpipe. I believe the street kit uses an on-center housing/4-bolt downpipe.

so you bought a new turbo for your kit and it doesnt fit? you bought a v band housing instead of a 4 bolt? street kit has a 4 bolt downpipe.

You better make sure that the turbo with a tang exhaust housing will fit without major work on the the frame. What turbo did you get? the best thing to do is just slap the on-center housing from the old turbo on the new turbo, but only if they are the same trim (ie P or Q trim). Other wise you could tear the turbo up.

Basically it takes a lot more work than just switching the downpipe to a vband to get everything to work together and fit.

later,
Dave

Well the turbo I ordered is a p trim Garrett Y2K T76 with an oncenter housing, the only problem is that its a v band and the tti kit isn't, I figure I'll just make a round shaped piece of metal with holes (possibly threaded) which can expand enough to get over the turbine side of the "v" lip. Then I'll bolt the dp on to that and I figure that will hold the dp tight against the tubine.

I sure don’t know all the nomenclature some of the turbo companies use, but if it’s a P-trim exhaust housing, you would probably be able to just swap exhaust housing from your old turbo and it will bolt right up (most TTi kits come with a .96 on-center ptrim turbo). But just to be sure I would call Jose at FI and tell him what you have and ask him it will work

That would be a lot easier than trying to rig something.
