do i smell sarcasm...hmm loljk yea im goin either LS6 "stock" stuff or just goin for the lingenfelter GT2-3 or whatever it is.. LONGRANGE had an sts turbo setup with a Lingenfelter cam and it made INSANE torque for the rest of the mods he had done at the time...i beleive it was somewhere near 550rwhp and 623rwtq?? with stock motor/stock 6.0L heads/sts gt67 upgrade/fuel system and TUNE...

im sure i missed some other stuff but lets jus say it was impressive for what he had in his sig'

P.S. I running a ATI P1SC w/7 lbs. of boost on a bone-stock engine.

When I bought mine from Lingenfelter I got it with LS6 springs. That's it as far as valvetrain upgrades. But I also don't have 100,000 miles either, only 27,000. I asked Lingenfelter about it and they said it should be good up to 6300 RPM. We'll see if I keep the GT2-3 after my turbo though. I hear reverse split is the way to go in that scenario...

On Thunders site, it says the cam has a smaller base circle, which means you should need a .050 longer pushrod....

LS6 Camshaft - 204/218 .551/.541 117.5 LSA Please note that this cam has approximately a 0.050" smaller base circle than a stock LS1 camshaft. This smaller base circle will require longer pushrods for applications with stock length valves and no milling for the head surface.

Tons of people have used the stock pushrods with not problems..

MECHAM, valvetrain is just as quiet as stock, only thing I can hear on mine is a little forged piston rattle and the injectors

Hey everyone, just a queston. If you went with the Z06 cam, but upgraded the rocker arms to a higher ratio, would that not make the cam more halthy? For instance, on a 406 (400 small block 00.30 over) the cam was rated for 1.5 rockers, but it was common knowledge if you got 1.6 or 1.7s it would increase the size of the cam. I believe stock rockers are 1.7, so he mentioned he has yellow aftermarkets. If they have a bigger ratio, would the cam size increase by more? For instance, .551 lift would go up to around .563 if I am right, and the duration would go up a little too.

Any time you increase rocker arm ratio you increase lift and duration. I know on a traditional small block you again about .030 lift from switching 1.5's to 1.6 ratio. Should be about the same for an LS1 (1.7 to 1.8). You also pick up a couple degrees of duration. It can be a good way to pick up a little extra power without hurting driveability.

Incorrect, although only slightly. Total duration of the lobe will never change unless you regrind the cam. When you change the rocker arm ratio you will affect duration at a given lift point, but the open and close valve events will still be the same.

I believe that is the 01' Z06 Cam. The 02' - 04's is the cam Im dealing with, that carry the specs posted in my first post. Correct me if Im wrong but I think that is right...

But remember that if the base circle is .050" smaller, the distance from rocker to the "backside" (not the lobe) of the cam is half that (.025").

Not a considerable amount with a hydraulic cam.
