from Corky bells maximum boost, he references that a turbo can be cocked a certain degree for fitment with out negative effect on oil drain or function.. obviously it would be safest to have it parallel, but a slight tilt should not destroy an engine. as for the pick up tube not getting oil...????? how is that relavent to the turbo or did I miss the point there.. just asking.. unless the turbo is pumping oil past a blown seal and not returning it to the pan, it should not effect the oil pump pick up whatsoever. and if this was the case.. you would know something was wrong long before you drained the pan below the pick up level.. you would fog out an antire city block with blue smoke.

the 3800 pick up tube is the back of the pan

either way, if it goes the intake route.. it will make it through the engine.. cause its gonna be blown out the scroll at HIGH velocity.. gauranteed to get to the plenum and throught he motor making blue smoke.. either way its not a good idea and should be avoided.. I agree with gravity drain being the ideal return system if the turbo is mounted high enough, and if adequate hose routing to the return point can be implemented.

way to be an *** to andrew, hes mah boy.
Wasnt trying to be an ***...just trying to point out that "it being custom" has nothing to do with it being cockeyed. Andrew, sorry f I was an ***

Feel better now

Also, adjusting the angle for the drain/feed is ok, but I would avoid tilting side to side to avoid starvng one seal and and flooding the other. That will cause some oil to either get into the turbine housing or compressor housing depending on how he sets up his turbo. The current angle may not be a problem...but it was just a heads up originally.

Question

How is this going to fit in the car? Are you mocking this system up entirely on an engine stand? What is going to happen when you try to install it in the car with all of the accessories?

car in FL, headers in houston tx = kinda hard

jigs are used to make everything from headers to head light brackets i dont see the differance here.....

plus theres a 97 car there they can test fit them if need be
