SBF headers and LS1 flanges?
SBF headers and LS1 flanges? I remember reading somewhere on this forum last year about the possibility of using SBF headers and cutting off the flanges and welding on LS1 flanges. They were saying that the pipes prety much lined up with little to no modification. You just had to weld on the new flanges. Has anyone heard of this before? Do you guys think it would work? Anyone with a SBF that could measure the distance from the center of one pipe to the next?
I've seen many SBF twin turbo manifolds recently and some of them look like they would fit if the pipes lined up. Prices are a lot less than the LS1 too. Here's a pic of a set I am looking at.

Why not just call the header manufacture and ask them to do the LS1 flanges. This should have no effect on there header jig and plus is now expands there inventory.

Verdad Gallardo You couldn't just haphazardly weld the flanges on, without mocking it up on the motor in the car. The angle and position of the cylinder head is different from a 5.0L Ford to the LS1.
