Default Escalade turbo install finished

We just finished installing the turbo on my next door neighbor's Escalade. There were a ton of minor problems and a couple of major ones. Livernois originally sent the kit without the turbo and some other parts. They then tried to blame UPS for the missing parts, although when they were confronted with a shipping weight that was 60 plus lbs less than it should have been, they sent the rest of the parts. Fitment of parts was more or less ok, except for the 10 2.25" t bolt clamps they sent to go on 2.5" hoses. There was also a couple of issues with the downpipe fit, but nothing major. We still have to fabricate the rest of the exhaust behind the downpipe, but the motor sounds wicked with nothing but a gt67 to muffle sound. I was surprised that I had almost no idle tuning to do since we swapped in an ls6 cam at the same time. If the vehicle were anything but a Cadillac we would just run a straight pipe from the downpipe back. As it is we are putting a warlock muffler on with an electric cutout for times when noise isn't an issue. I'm not sure if we will be able to get dyno results, because his md250 is only a 2wd dyno, but we should definitely have 1/4 mile times next weekend.

That would be something new hearing a escalade going down the street with a turbo spool.

We finally took the escalade out for the first test drive. The motor is making good power, but I fucked up something in the transmission tables. I tried to delete all forms of torque management, raise shift rpms, and quite a few other things all at one time. Since this is my first attempt at anything major with a fly by wire throttle, I don't know if some of those settings may affect shifts as well. For some reason the transmission doesn't want to start off in first gear, and the rest of the shifts seem a little off. I think I will set all of the transmission tables back to stock and just modify one thing at a time. On the bright side, the warlock muffler is almost factory quiet behind the turbo, and the exhaust sounds great with the cutout open.

Dude, that would be SO bad. I have never heard of anyone in an escalade modding the crap out of their luxury car. I would love to see that in real life, and hear it under boost. That is freakin awesome, hope you work out all the bugs!

Update. I was recently reminded of this thread I started over 10 years ago. The 2005 Escalade in question has been as far as Texas, Florida, and Ohio while towing trailers, as well as a decade of WalMart grocery trips. Since heatshielding a couple of plug wires and swapping in a 4l80 in 2007, the MAFless SD tune hasn't been touched in over 9 years. The first year involved tinkering with the VE and the IAT vs ECT bias tables every time the weather changed. This is the only vehicle build I have ever been involved in where once it was done right it was left alone long enough for a long term build update.
