prob cause of the size of piping he has to run.

The Victor Jr manifold is for high rpm /high hp/all out race application , you will lose torque down low, plus it sits high and may require cutting of the hood/cowl for clearancing when running with the elbow. Its probably not advantageous to use it on a street car or a car slower than 10 seconds.

The gmpp manifold looks nice and will give you that equal distribution of air flow to all the cylinders. That's on my wish list of things to do by the end of the year.

Caveman has one in his garage that I should buy. Supposedly they are worth 40-50 hp.

True... because the LS2 is the cheapest of them all and has only gone 9.9s at 140.x in a 3,700lbs TA. I guess I'll be taking out the garbage from now on. It's all about the combo and the tune folks.

Victor JR and GMPP provide better distribution in higher RPM setups that are looking at 800HP or more. We are usually talking cars that will be primarily track driven and guys that want to head up over 7k RPMs and in many cases doing it with a solid roller setup. Until you get to those points, I'd save the money for something else and run your LS6/LS2s combos unless you just like the bling factor.

i would run the single plane intakes on any thing at any speed...

who wants there back cylinders getting very little air and who wants there front cylinders heavy with air...

equal distribution of air is very important in my book for any car/motor
that way your not standing on a few cylinders and being easy on the others

Any LSX anything is amazing.. BUT in comparison.. ESPECIALLY for FI. LS2 is subpar.. Just my 2 cent. And with the Carb style intakes.. you will lose something down low.. But in the Bigger picture. Overall it comes out to be the best.. It's all in what you want.. And this guy wants max power. 9 sec runs and mucho horsepower. Not saying that it can't be done on an ls1 intake.. To each is their own

Hey noone has said a word on the BBK 85 mm manifold. I have posted before asking about this model. It sells for around $450 through summit. It is aluminum, so there is some heat soak, ubt with as fast as the air will be moving, will it make that much difference? They claim N/A 15-20 hp gain over stock, so what about FI??

The Victor work very good on DD cars. Here is a pic of it and a dyno graph of 8lb,12lb,15lb all on pump gas, very streetable. The stock LS6 did lean out the back cylinders. Now they are all even

thats exactically what im saying.... who cares what hp a intake can support when it leaning out the back cylinders and running them hard and the front ones are fat....

run part of your motor hard and the other part easy that makes no sense... and thats why i bought the gmpp intake.

I agree, that number 7 cylinder is a scary place with OEM intakes...

i was up late last night and since i couldn't sleep did some research on this.

It is apparent that you will need to run a different cam when running this kind of manifold one with a much lower lsa and higher duration which I thought was interesting.

bottom line though, there are plenty of 1000 hp cars with the ls6 manifold with no problems.

There hasn't been much documented of using the gmpp or edelbrock intake in terms of gains for forced induction or na. One guy gained a tenth in et and he was a high compression 408.

Until I see a comparison of removing the ls6 manifold and bolting up the gmpp manifold and getting a documented substantial gain, I'm not buying that these intakes are worth the money.

It just looks cool that's it. And we don't have small block chevy's guys, our motors react differently.

I wouldn't i'd run a dual plane for the street. same principle applying with the equal distribution. Edelbrock RPM performer is one of the best out there, wish they could adapt it to our engines.

Just my $.02 cause it's your money spend it how you want.

We ran a LS6 intake on the Formula to low 8's @ 170+mph. I run one on my CE currently. Neither cars had or have lean issues in the back cylinders. All pistons and plugs look the same when pulled. Yes, both cars run Big Stuff 3 but neither had individual cylinder adjustments made. I ran the CE into the 9's on a stock shortblock and computer without issue. People need to get there tunes right.

how many pounds of boost were you running... not looking for horsepower numbers looking for intake pressure.

the reason i ask the above is because after you have soo much boost on the inside of a intake it probably wont get uneven airflow cause all the air is sitting right on top of the valves just waiting to get it... i would say once you get above 16-18# it may not make as big of a difference as say it would a motor running at 10 lbs...

or i could be totally wrong
