Default Intercooler setup

Well.. I just got back from looking at my new car.. Warbird's old car. Unfortunately it's not quite done.. And I will have to wait one more week.. The setup is a 391 LS2 w/ a T88. It has a FMIC. Flows 1400cfm. It's not as close up front in the nose as I see many others. I will be cutting out the front license plate cover and running a funnel to "run" the air directly to the intercooler. Down the road.. the goal will be 1000++rwhp.. Will the intercooler be good enough.. i wish I had pics of where it was at on the car.. But is 1400cfm good enough? Or should I go bigger?

1400cfm at what pressure drop....that is key. 1400cfm at 1.5psi drop with proper endtanks, etc, etc. is good to 1000 to 1100 engine hp....then the pressure drop starts going up as hp increases.........you're biggest issue will be getting the heat out of an A to A IC at those power levels.....I'd start thinking about Meth injection or A to W if you're serious about +1000rwhp.
