some smoke? hey im gettin a lil bit of white smoke only at start up of car, and sometimes wide open throttle when it shifts gears, in my drive way we started it up and it only smokes right at start(white smoke) and it was sitting for a lil bit and i notices a lil smoke, but not consistent, i havent lost any power, and my oil isnt milky at all, looks good, im not burning any oil either, what is goin on? i dont seem to be losing coolant either? oh and at startup its only like a 3 second thing then it clears? Help Please!

Valve stem seals. This is what I was told when I had the same problem on an IROC I had in college: When the stem seals start to go, they allow oil to pass and drip on hte piston. Not a major amount, but it pools on the top of the piston. when you fire the motor up, it burns the tiny amount of oil, and you get that start up smoke. Mine was white also. I bought the umbrella seals at Autozone for like 50 cents a piece. At higher RPMs it should also pass smoke as your valves are moving quicker.
