Default 346 life???

how many miles are you guys getting out of your forged 346s before blowby or needing to rebuild and ring them??Ive herd they shouldnt have problems if done correctly and Ive herd they will need to be re ringed often

I believe it really makes a difference what kind of parts you're using. If you use junk, it will be more prone to needing a rebuild. If machine work is done incorrectly or not done at all, could cause premature failure.

My tuner told me my forged motor should last the life of the car. JE pistons, Howard rods, custom rings, etc.

Aright good.I spent alot of $ making sure machine work was done right and I have nice forged parts.I was only wondering because Ive seen some people say they had to re ring theres once or twice a year

A well built 347 will work flawlessly with a good tune. Should last near forever as long as you perform proper maintenance on it... =)

No kidding, that would be ridiculous. You should get years of use out of any engine that has forced induction on it, unless you have a bad tune, or are pushing it too hard. Bob

I am making 800 rwhp so far with no problems, You should not worry about life, Exotic said it all!

I feel if your tune is good. And the proper maintenance is maintained it will last a long time. As long as you know the limits of the parts used.

I've been running a stock block with a P1SC1 @ 7lbs for a year and a half with absolutely no problems. The LS1 is a great engine!
