Default First drive 408 "TWINS"

I finally put the new head gaskets in and drove the car. I went to the Lombard car show. First off I have to give MAJOR props to Speed Inc. I wish they could have been ther to get some of the props on building the kit. Everone just loved how clean the kit looked. There was a crowd around the car ALL NIGHT. I couldn't believe how many people stopped to look and talk about the car. Most of the time the older cars get all the attention, not last night. People would go to wallk by, see the twins and turn around.

Anyways, for the fun part. Driving the car at a cruise is nice, alot more quiet than I thought it would be. You could slightly hear the turbos at cruise, give it a touch of gas and they would spool up FAST! There is a idle problem, but nothing Jim can't handle in a hurry. After I left I went to pick up Tuff and went for a ride. We found a good concrete road, put it in 2nd gear and hit it from around 40 mph. Lets just say the 28" by 10.5 ET Drag wasn't enough tire for the 900 hp! WOW it hit boost all most at the hit of the throttle. NO LAG! Then it was just nuts!!! I'm going to see if I can get it to Speed this week and hit the street drags at GLD in Wisconsin this weekend. Thats should be some big fun!

BTW, I can't even imagine another 6 lbs of boost. I'm just running on the waste gate springs right now, 18lbs of boost.

Yea he picked me up and it was so funny when he looked over at me and said should i hit it in first or second, and i thought if this ***** is making power i would start off in second. And let me tell you when he hit it i think he **** his pants because it was out of control. I would really like to see it at the track to see what it really has.But then he better get a shute because he will be digging himself out of the beach. I ran 9.40 last year and i know fast cars but this thing will be crazy!!!

I should be going this weekend. I don't have a chute or a rear end yet (12 bolt 3.73 or 4.11 gears?), but I'll make some passes. It would be nice to get the suspension working good and get some 1/8 times.

Car sounds sick man. Is it a 6 speed car or auto? Either way that thing is making some great power. LME builds some top notch motors thats for sure. That turbo kit did come out really nice, props to speed inc.

With the MPH of an estimated 8's pass, I would think more along the lines of 3.42 than 4.11's with the 28" tall tire.

I agree 3.42.

Here's the math:
Assuming 7500 max rpm.
Radial: 28 inches tire, 8% converter slip, 3.42 would put him at 169 at 7500.
Slick: 29.25 inches (28x10.5 slick with growth) 8% converter slip, 3.73, 177 at 7500.

It all depends on how fast you want to go. High 8's and you can go with the 3.73...anything faster 3.42's. I am running 4.10's but I can rev to over 8k.

Hey,

I saw that at the lombard show and man....You guys on the forum cant even start to beleive how clean the whole job looks. I would have to say that, that car was the best car at the car show. The same old cars are there every week and was nice to see a new car + I didnt figure I would see something as insane as that TA.

Amazing work.

I think you better let Mikey get a few passes in it since you sold him a shitty motor
That thing will be sick at the track, I cant wait to go back to turbo.. Having the squeeze is nice, but nothing beats the street power of boost!
