It is configurable for 1, 2, and 3 bar MAP sensors so it can change timing bsed on boost level. I think its key features are a integrated two-step and high rpm limiting. And it has the ability to retard timing. I am hoping that they will modify to software to make the product alittle better for us FI guys by making the retard function as an advance when running Meth and change the way they have their timing vs map tables layed out.

Thank for posting this up, I for one didnt even know this was an option for tuning, just figured HPT/EFIlive were the only things going right now.

Everybody needs to post to that thread on MSD's forum so that this gets the attention it needs to move forward...

I just purchased a 6010 box myself and havent gotten it yet. The built in two step, nitrous retard, boost timing control etc all for $200 shipped I paid! GREAT DEAL.
Question: What do you want different as far as the timing vs map tables? I read the link regarding timing vs boost and it appears to allow you to set in retard of timing for boost pressure. The more boost the more timing you can pull out. Whats the problem there?
Also: On the timing advance/retard you want for methanol. Have you thought of hooking it up in reverse? Where the timing retard is "ON" when methanol is not working and have the timing retard turn "OFF" when the methanol comes on?? That would do what you want, just kinda backwards...

I know how to trick it into working... I'd rather it work without having to trick it. If you look, all of the pictures I put in that thread all but the last one have been photoshopped.
Right now, there are two "items" that modify the one "main" table. The Timing vs. RPM is your "main table". And then there is "MAP vs. Timing Adder". This table currently only ADDs to the main table. This works great for NA cars because you are only adding timing with vacuum. But if you want to work it out on a FI car what you have to do is "Offset" the main table.
For example, If you want to be able to subract 10 degrees of timing as you raise boost, you'll actually have to lowwer your Main table by 10 degrees across the board. It WORKs but its not intuitive. I am just saying that it could be MUCH better.
The last thing that modifies the main table is the SW retard. When 12 is applied to the input, the main table is reduced by the programmed amount. Again, you can trick it into adding timing by again shifting the main table down by the desired amount.
The real problem that you start running into is that the main table has a minimum number of Zero. Thus limiting the amount by which you can keep dropping the main table.
