Default tt408 vette in az

Anybody else running a similar setup?

I can drive around a/c off all day and car stays around 200, but run the a/c, add some traffic and it's meltdown time..

What are people doing to avoid this? Big fluidyne? Aftermarket fans? Ideas appreciated.

2000 Tran Zam runs a 408 single turbo (GT55) built by Futral Motorsports and just recently had his overheating problems fixed by them, I would talk to him. His location says Ahwatukee, Az. If I remember correctly most of his problems came in traffic, like you mention.

I just so happen to be an expert in heating/cooling problems of 4th gen Y-bodies with 408s and twin tubos. How about you pick me up and we can do a "test" drive to figure out what's wrong. Being that I'm such an incredibly nice guy, I'd be willing to offer my services for free.

are you running a front or rear mount setup? if a front mount setup how is the plumbing setup/run? are you running turbo headers or stock manifolds?

Where's your intercooler located? If it's front mount then you're going to have problems getting air flow to the radiator. Get Z06 grills and tear out the plastic garbage behind them for one. Then get a 160 thermostat in there with fans programmed to come on earlier. AC running in rush hour I might see 214deg, but once I start moving it drops fast.

If Nic hasn't looked at your car yet, it's a good idea to let him. He tuned mine just fine.

The driveability stuff was done by Jason from Texas speed. All that is setup great, it just get's hot down here..

Intercooler is blocking off the radiator too..

I would just throw a Ron Davis radiator in it, I dont think the factory radiator can handle the extra displacement.
