good luck with the build, it sound pretty mean, but imo ud be better off with smaller cubes for big hp with a rearmount turbo.
werd, i owuld do an 88mm with a 408, at least

I hear what you are saying... the challenge that we rearmounters continue to fight it that in a remote mount setup, the temp loss is significant. In some estimates up to 30%... this does two things... increase the backpressure and reduce the overall heat efficiency of the turbo... where you are ******* out your 76GTS, I will just be pushing it to its max (this is the concept I am working on anyways). We will see... there are 402/408 rearmounts with 70 and 72 trim turbos... Are they seeing good HP numbers? Yes... Are their turbos operating at crappy efficiency rates.... Hell yes. So where is the balance of increased cubes making up for the loss of heat and air volume in a rear mount?!? That is the question.

twin rear mounts have been done on a TA before. Dont know too much about it though. "Jammer" is the screen name of the owner. I think it has been sold.

.86 AR is what I will go with...

Just spoke with Jose yesterday (Thanks man!!!) and he gave me some good advice on my turbo. Looks like I will go with the newer 76MPS that DrTurbo was talking about. Jose belives with the setup I am going for and with the piping and engine upgrades I should see close to 1200 at the crank... you do the math.

Cant wait!!!

The turbo can support up to 1200hp max, the whole key and problem like Jose said is getting enough heat to it and keeping it within the piping. He has some equations written down on the boards and it appears that just the difference between 1500EGT and ~1000EGT is over 10 lbs extra of back pressure. So at 10psi that is the difference between a 2:1 setup and a 3:1 setup.....yikes. You really don't see the difference until its done on paper.

Yeap... that will be the true challange... I think I will coat the exhaust inside and out... then wrap it with ceramic batting with an aluminum backing then outside that I will wrap with 1/16" thick header wrap all the way back. Great thread on it here: https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...t=wrap+exhaust

Trying to retain as much temp as possible... I may even blanket the turbo.
