Intmd8 is the LT1 expert... he's been running a lot of small single pattern cams.

you can custom order cams any size you want, but don't think that you are limited to just a single pattern cam, many use duel pattern cams, and do great with them.

but in the end, you have to decide what you really want to run, what rpm, are you after more low end mid, or top end?

and of course then you have those that say you can't have any overlap, but at 5000 to 7000 rpm's how much boost is going to bleed off and back feed with a few degrees of overlap, pretty much none.

so before you ask what cam you should run tell us what your goals are.

I believe Jim is running a 218/218 to have excellent idle quality, but I think he made more power with a 224/224 cam.

changing anything will require doing valve springs, but I think .600 is about it, not positive though, but many are running gm847's with 1.6 rr's and that puts them at .595
lift on the exhaust.

I don't think its too much I think its just the wrong grind for a turbo car.

It kind of depends on what your going for though, most of the max effort cars run bigger cams than that.

I would look around for something around 220 for your car, with as much lift as you can get away with.
