Steve Petty and Proline motors just went 6.66@215 on a 10.5W tire at over 2950# in Tim Lynch’s mustang and they did it with a 640 ci twin turbo monster! Here is the video ....

Overkill some might say,, but when you set world records you must be doing something right! They also set a new MPH record at 223 mph… now that hauling the mail!

I chose the ET LS7 heads and the goals of the project are a mild 1800hp with the current setup, we'd like to make in the mid 2000s with the bigger turbo next year.

I recently purchased a crate engine from American Speed. Gale over at American Speed swears by these heads.

http://www.amerspeed.com/

It is a small block 427 with AFR heads and made 565hp /616tq. My second engine with these quality heads. I can only imagine a set of hairblowers on top of these heads.

10.42 @ 131.4 on mildly ported 6Ls w/2.05, 1.6 valves. Hoping to hit low 10s/hi 9s this year with 408, more porting, 1 7/8 Kooks & a Vic Jr. Also hoping to hit 700rwhp/800rwtq. All in the 15 psi range.

Let me reiterate here. Stock castings are just as good as aftermarket castings "given both are hand ported" up until 15 PSI that is where you want to switch to an aftermarket casting. Up until then the power difference is not worth talking about. So you have to ask yourself what is your goal? Then answer the question yourself.......
